FOR ATC PLANNING PURPOSES
An upper-level low will bring a series of convective disturbances from the northwest through the weekend. The thunderstorm activity stretching from ODF, into TN will dissipate as it crosses the Appalachians. Scattered to widespread thunderstorms will reform over TN/AL after 15z and traverse eastward at 15-20kts, taking up most of ZTL. Expect patchy IFR/MVFR conditions over N ZTL until 15z, otherwise, VFR outside of convection. Surface winds will be west to southwest at 10-15kts. Flight Hazards outside of convection: LGT-MOD Turbulence above FL280 and LGT-MOD Rime Icing from 140-FL240 east of the Appalachians. Altimeters will remain above 29.92ins over all ZTL. Ceilings below 050 are expected in all ZTL Areas until 15z.
