PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

BE ESPECIALLY CAUTIOUS AT NIGHT WHEN IT IS HARDER TO TELL HOW MUCH
WATER IS ON THE ROAD...DO NOT DRIVE THROUGH FAST MOVING WATER OF
UNKNOWN DEPTH.

DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE
ROADWAY. THE WATER DEPTH MAY BE TOO GREAT TO ALLOW YOUR CAR TO CROSS
SAFELY.

ESTA PERSPECTIVA DE TIEMPO PELIGROSO ES PARA ÁREAS DEL NORTE Y
CENTRAL DE NUEVO MÉXICO.

.PRIMER DÍA...HOY Y ESTA NOCHE...

LAS LLUVIAS Y TORMENTAS EXTENSAMENTE DISPERSADAS SOBRE EL ESTE DE
NUEVO MÉXICO DISMINUIRÁN GRADUALMENTE LA ÁREA AFECTADA E INTENSIDAD
PARA MEDIA MAÑANA. ESTO DARÁ LUGAR A UNA NUEVA SUCESIÓN DE
DISPERSADO A LAS TORMENTAS NUMEROSAS ESTA TARDE HASTA EL ATARDECER
SOBRE DEL NORTE Y CENTRAL DE NUEVO MÉXICO. EL MOVIMIENTO LENTO DE
TORMENTAS PRODUCIRÁ LA LLUVIA LOCALMENTE INTENSA QUE PODRÍA CONDUCIR
A LAS INUNDACIONES. LAS TORMENTAS PUEDEN TAMBIÉN RESULTAR EN EL
GRANIZO PEQUEÑO...Y EL VIENTO BORRASCOSO DE HASTA 50 MILLAS POR
HORA.

.SEGUNDO DÍA AL SÉPTIMO DÍA...MIÉRCOLES HASTA LUNES...

UN BREVE INTERRUPTOR EN QUE LA CONFIGURACIÓN ACTIVA ES PRONOSTICADO
EL MIÉRCOLES. ENTONCES OTRO FRENTE FRÍO DEL ESTE REFORZARÁ LA ÁREA
AFECTADA POR LAS TORMENTAS PARA JUEVES HASTA SÁBADO EL PERÍODO CON
DISPERSADO A LAS TORMENTAS NUMEROSAS PRONOSTICADAS. LOS MOVIMIENTOS
DE LA TORMENTA SERÁN LENTOS Y LA PRECIPITACIÓN PLUVIAL PODRÍA ESTAR
INTENSA OCASIONALMENTE. ESTO PUDO RESULTAR EN ÁREAS LOCALIZADAS DE
LAS INUNDACIONES REPENTINAS...ESPECIALMENTE SOBRE Y DE LAS
CICATRICES RECIENTES Y MÁS VIEJAS CERCANAS DE LA QUEMADURA. ÁREAS
AISLADAS PUEDEN RECIBIR DE HASTA 2 PULGADAS DE LA PRECIPITACIÓN
PLUVIAL. ALGUNAS TORMENTAS PUEDEN TAMBIÉN PRODUCIR EL GRANIZO
PEQUEÑO Y RÁFAGAS DE VIENTO DE HASTA 50 MILLAS POR HORA.

THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR PORTIONS OF NORTH AND CENTRAL
NEW MEXICO.

.DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT

WIDESPREAD SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS ACROSS EASTERN NEW MEXICO
WILL GRADUALLY DIMINISH IN COVERAGE AND INTENSITY BY MID-MORNING.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...WEDNESDAY THROUGH MONDAY

A BRIEF BREAK IN THE ACTIVE PATTERN IS EXPECTED ON WEDNESDAY. THEN
ANOTHER BACKDOOR COLD FRONT WILL BOOST STORM COVERAGE FOR THE
THURSDAY THROUGH SATURDAY PERIOD WITH SCATTERED TO NUMEROUS
THUNDERSTORMS EXPECTED. STORM MOTIONS WILL BE SLOW AND RAINFALL
COULD BECOME HEAVY AT TIMES. THIS MAY LEAD TO LOCALIZED AREAS OF
FLASH FLOODING... ESPECIALLY OVER AND NEAR RECENT AND OLDER BURN
SCARS. ISOLATED LOCATIONS MAY RECEIVE UP TO 2 INCHES OF RAINFALL.
A FEW STORMS MAY ALSO PRODUCE SMALL HAIL AND WIND GUSTS TO 50 MPH.

THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR PORTIONS OF CENTRAL...EAST
CENTRAL...SOUTH CENTRAL AND SOUTHEAST COLORADO.

.DAY ONE...THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT

FLASH FLOODING WILL BE THE PRIMARY STORM THREAT TODAY AS AN EMBEDDED
DISTURBANCE WITHIN THE MONSOON PLUME ACTS IN CONCERT WITH AFTERNOON
HEATING TO GENERATE NUMEROUS SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS ACROSS THE
MOUNTAINS. THESE WILL MOVE OFF INTO THE PLAINS DURING THE LATE
AFTERNOON AND EVENING HOURS BEFORE DEVELOPING INTO A THUNDERSTORM
CLUSTER ACROSS THE EXTREME SOUTHEAST PLAINS OVERNIGHT. DUE TO
ABUNDANT MOISTURE IN THE ATMOSPHERE...THUNDERSTORMS WILL BE
CAPABLE OF PRODUCING LOCALLY HEAVY RAINFALL AND FLASH FLOODING.
RAINFALL RATES OF AROUND 2 INCHES PER HOUR WILL BE POSSIBLE WITH
THE STRONGER STORMS. THE MOST SUSCEPTIBLE AREAS WILL BE THE BURN
SCARS. HOWEVER AREAS WITH SATURATED SOILS FROM RECENT HEAVY
RAIN...AND LOCATIONS IN AND NEAR STEEP TERRAIN WILL ALSO SEE AN
ELEVATED THREAT FOR FLASH FLOODING THROUGH THIS EVENING. THE FLASH
FLOOD THREAT WILL CONTINUE INTO THE OVERNIGHT HOURS FOR THE
SOUTHEAST MOUNTAINS AND PLAINS AS A THUNDERSTORM CLUSTER DEVELOPS
AND SLOWLY MOVES TO THE SOUTHEAST.

ONE OR TWO STRONG TO SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS WILL BE POSSIBLE ACROSS
THE SOUTHEAST PLAINS THIS AFTERNOON AND EVENING. HAIL UP TO 1 INCH
IN DIAMETER AND WIND GUSTS TO 60 MPH WILL BE POSSIBLE WITH THE
STRONGER STORMS.

DANGEROUS CLOUD TO GROUND LIGHTNING WILL BE A THREAT WITH ALL
THUNDERSTORMS TODAY.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...WEDNESDAY THROUGH MONDAY

THE RISK FOR LOCALLY HEAVY RAINFALL AND ASSOCIATED FLASH FLOODING
IS EXPECTED TO CONTINUE OVER MANY PORTIONS OF SOUTHERN COLORADO
FROM WEDNESDAY INTO POSSIBLY THE WEEKEND. SCATTERED TO NUMEROUS
SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS ARE ANTICIPATED OVER THE MOUNTAINS MOST
AFTERNOONS...WITH STORMS SPREADING ACROSS THE ADJACENT HIGH
VALLEYS AND NEARBY PLAINS THROUGH THE EVENING HOURS. AT THIS
TIME...IT APPEARS THAT THE THE RISK OF FLASH FLOODING WILL BE
HIGHEST WEDNESDAY...ALTHOUGH THE POTENTIAL FOR LOCALIZED FLASH
FLOODING WILL ALSO BE POSSIBLE AT TIMES FROM LATER THIS WEEK
INTO THIS WEEKEND. IN ADDITION...IF ENOUGH PRECIPITATION
FALLS...PORTIONS OF THE ARKANSAS AND PURGATOIRE RIVERS...ALONG
WITH THEIR TRIBUTARY CREEKS AND STREAMS MAY EXPERIENCE FLOODING
AT TIMES.

PLEASE REMEMBER THAT AREA BURN SCARS...URBAN AREAS...STEEP
TERRAIN LOCATIONS AND AREAS THAT HAVE RECEIVED RECENT HEAVY
PRECIPITATION WILL BE MOST VULNERABLE TO THE FLASH FLOOD RISK.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

WEATHER CONDITIONS THAT MEET REPORTING CRITERIA FOR SPOTTERS WILL BE
POSSIBLE THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT ACROSS SOUTH CENTRAL AND
SOUTHEAST COLORADO.
