AS THIS SYSTEM PASSES THROUGH THE REGION LATE THIS AFTERNOON AND
TONIGHT...IT WILL BRING A WINTRY MIX OF PRECIPITATION TO MUCH OF
CENTRAL KENTUCKY.

PRECIPITATION IS EXPECTED TO BREAK OUT ACROSS WESTERN KENTUCKY
THIS AFTERNOON IN THE FORM OF RAIN SHOWERS. THIS ACTIVITY WILL
THEN SPREAD EASTWARD INTO CENTRAL AND SOUTH-CENTRAL KENTUCKY THIS
EVENING. AS THE EVENING WEARS ON...THE RAIN WILL MIX WITH AND

APPALACHIANS THROUGH MIDDAY.

THE BEST CHANCES LOCALLY FOR A LIGHT SNOW ACCUMULATION OF
GENERALLY 1 TO 4 INCHES...WILL BE ACROSS THE SMOKY MOUNTAINS AND
NORTHERN MOUNTAINS OF EAST TENNESSEE...AND ALSO THE HIGHER TERRAIN
OF SOUTHWESTERN VIRGINIA. SOME LOCALLY HIGHER AMOUNTS OF 2 TO 5
INCHES WILL BE POSSIBLE ACROSS FAR NORTHEAST TENNESSEE WHERE A
WINTER STORM WARNING IS IN EFFECT THROUGH NOON TODAY.

ANOTHER UPPER-LEVEL DISTURBANCE WILL TRACK THROUGH THE REGION
