THE FLASH FLOOD WATCH IS NOW IN EFFECT FOR

* HORSE CREEK DOWNSTREAM OF LANGLEY POND IN AIKEN COUNTY.

* THROUGH WEDNESDAY EVENING

* AFTER DISCUSSION WITH THE AIKEN COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT...THE
  FLASH FLOOD WATCH FOR THE LANGLEY POND DAM AND AREAS DOWNSTREAM
  OF THE DAM HAS BEEN EXTENDED THROUGH WEDNESDAY EVENING. EMERGENCY
  MANAGEMENT AND ENGINEERS AT THE DAM REPORT THAT PUMPS HAVE BEEN
  BROUGHT TO THE DAM LOCATION TO HELP LOWER THE WATER LEVEL BEHIND
  THE DAM. HOWEVER EVEN WITH THE PUMPS...THE WATER LEVELS BEHIND
  THE DAM HAVE SLOWLY RISEN DUE TO RECENT RAINFALL. WITH ANOTHER
  ROUND OF ADDITIONAL RAINFALL EXPECTED TO OCCUR TUESDAY NIGHT
  INTO WEDNESDAY...THE WATCH HAS BEEN EXTENDED DUE TO THIS RAIN
  AND THE CONTINUED STRUCTURAL CONCERNS.

* AREAS DOWNSTREAM OF THE DAM INCLUDE THE TOWNS OF LANGLEY AND
  BATH NEAR HORSE CREEK. STATE ROAD 254...LANGLEY DAM ROAD AND
  STATE ROAD 67...ANTHONY DRIVE...COULD BE IMPACTED WHERE THEY
  CROSS HORSE CREEK. OTHER AREAS THAT COULD BE AFFECTED WOULD BE
  CAMP KIWANIS LANE AND FAR FOUR LANE.

A FLASH FLOOD WATCH MEANS THAT CONDITIONS MAY DEVELOP DOWNSTREAM
OF THE DAM THAT COULD LEAD TO FLASH FLOODING. FLASH FLOODING IS A
VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION.

RESIDENTS DOWNSTREAM OF THE DAM SHOULD BE PREPARED TO TAKE ACTION
SHOULD A FLASH FLOOD WARNING BE ISSUED.

* FORECAST...THE RIVER WILL RISE TO NEAR 15.1 FEET BY THIS AFTERNOON
  AND THEN GRADUALLY FALL TONIGHT THROUGH TUESDAY.
AT 15.0 FEET...MOST OF THE FARMFIELDS BETWEEN THE RIVER AND BREVARD
ROAD WILL BE FLOODED. FIELDS BETWEEN THE RIVER AND PLEASANT GROVE
