...ARCTIC AIR INTRUSION WILL TURN RAIN INTO A WINTRY MIX...

.RAIN ASSOCIATED WITH A COLD FRONT WILL OCCUR OVER THE AREA
WEDNESDAY AND WEDNESDAY EVENING. HOWEVER...ARCTIC AIR WILL MOVE IN
BEHIND THE FRONT WHILE THE PRECIPITATION IS ONGOING...PLUNGING
SURFACE TEMPERATURES TO BELOW FREEZING ESPECIALLY OVER THE
CUMBERLAND PLATEAU AND SOUTHWEST VIRGINIA DURING LATE WEDNESDAY
NIGHT. THE PUSH OF THE ARCTIC AIR EASTWARD INTO THE TENNESSEE
VALLEY DURING THURSDAY MORNING...AND THE TIMING OF WHEN
TEMPERATURES THERE WILL FALL BELOW FREEZING...REMAINS A LITTLE
UNCERTAIN. THEREFORE...THE WINTER STORM WATCH WILL INCLUDE THE
METRO AREAS OF CHATTANOOGA...KNOXVILLE...AND TRI-CITIES AT THIS
