THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR PORTIONS OF SOUTHWEST NORTH
CAROLINA...EAST TENNESSEE AND SOUTHWEST VIRGINIA.

.DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT...

AN UPPER LEVEL DISTURBANCE WILL BRING SOME RAIN TONIGHT...AND THE
RAIN MAY MIX WITH OR CHANGE TO SNOW AT TIMES LATER TONIGHT INTO EARLY
SATURDAY ESPECIALLY OVER THE HIGHER ELEVATIONS. SOME LIGHT SNOW
ACCUMULATIONS MAY OCCUR ESPECIALLY OVER THE HIGHER ELEVATIONS ABOVE
2500 FEET.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...SATURDAY THROUGH THURSDAY...

A STORM SYSTEM WILL MOVE ACROSS THE TENNESSEE VALLEY AND SOUTHERN
APPALACHIANS TUESDAY NIGHT THROUGH WEDNESDAY NIGHT. WARM AIR WILL
STREAM NORTH INTO THE SYSTEM KEEPING PRECIPITATION ASSOCIATED WITH
THE SYSTEM IN THE FORM OF RAIN SHOWERS. HOWEVER...THE AIR WILL BE
COLD ENOUGH ON THE BACK SIDE OF THE STORM SYSTEM LATER WEDNESDAY
AFTERNOON THROUGH WEDNESDAY NIGHT FOR THE RAIN TO CHANGE INTO SNOW.
THEREFORE...THERE IS THE POSSIBILITY OF SOME SNOW ON CHRISTMAS EVE.
THE BEST CHANCE FOR SOME ACCUMULATION WOULD BE IN THE HIGHER
TERRAIN WHERE COLDER TEMPERATURES AND OROGRAPHIC LIFT SHOULD HELP
GENERATE A BETTER LIKELIHOOD OF SNOW.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

SPOTTER ACTIVATION IS NOT NEEDED AT THIS TIME.
