The Effects

Significant rainfall fell over several areas of Texas, from West Texas near Abilene through the Hill Country and South Central Texas to the Houston Metropolitan area and Southeast Texas. 3 river basins were primarily impacted, the Colorado, San Antonio, and the bayous of the San Jacinto River.

A quick way to gain perspective on the volume of water the fell over Texas, look at the increase in reservoir elevations (images courtesy of the U. S. Geologic Survey) for reservoirs over West Texas and South Central Texas.
