"WeatherFest!"
January 17th, 2009
|
|
The National Weather Service
in Tallahassee, Florida
State University Department of Meteorology and North
Florida Chapter of the AMS would like to thank you
for making WeatherFest 2009 a tremendous success!
On the coldest morning this area has seen in nearly two
years, an estimated crowd of 500 to 700 people attended
the event. We were overwhelmed by the response and definitely
plan to make WeatherFest a recurring event here
in the Florida Big Bend. So if you didn't get a chance
to watch the weather balloon launches, or missed out on
the severe weather simulation, you'll have a chance at
the next WeatherFest planned for sometime in early
2010. We are interested to hear from you about your
experiences at WeatherFest. We are already going
over things that worked out well and things that could
have gone better, but we want to hear from you! Please
send your comments
to our webmaster. Be sure to check out the
photo gallery of the event (below) provided by our photographer,
Bob Duggan. Thanks again for making NWS Tallahassee a
part of your weekend plans.
