Locating Records Data

Record data is available through our web site for a few sites in West Central and Southwest Florida.  These include Tampa International, Lakeland Linder, St. Petersburg - Albert Whitted, Sarasota-Bradenton International, and Fort Myers - Page Field.  To locate this information follow the steps below.

  1. Go to our Climate Page. (http://www.srh.noaa.gov/tbw/html/tbw/TampaBayClimatePage.htm)
  2. Click anywhere on the map with the Primary Sites (yellow squares) displayed.  This will take you to the Primary Sites Climate Page with many drop down menus.
  3. Record data for the each day, as well as the month, can be found within the fourth choice on the page labeled “Record Temps and Precip”.  Choose a site and month from the drop down menus and click the "GO" button on this line.
Note: Occasional a Record Event Report is issued when a temperature or precipitation record is set or tied at one of the above sites.  To locate these reports go to the Locating Daily Products page.

Records data is not available for most Automated Surface Observing System (ASOS) Sites.  However, it is available for all Cooperative Observer Program (COOP) Sites through the Southeast Regional Climate Center (SERCC).  To locate this information online follow the steps below.

COOP Sites

  1. Go to our Climate Page. (http://www.srh.noaa.gov/tbw/html/tbw/TampaBayClimatePage.htm)
  2. Click on one the "COOP Sites" links to the right of the map.  This will change the map and display the COOP sites available in West Central and Southwest Florida.
  3. Click on a site name on the map.  This will cause a small box to pop up on the screen.
  4. Click on the "Normals and Records" button.  This will take you to the Southeast Regional Climate Center web site for the COOP site you've chosen.
  5. On the SERCC web site for the COOP site you've chosen, go to the bottom of the left side menu and click on second to last choice labeled "Daily Summary Stats (~55kb)".
Note: The Records data on the Southeast Regional Climate Center web site is only updated about once a year.  Therefore, some of the data may not be correct.
