Effect of El Niño on Texas Temperature

Each graph shows the departures from normal for that Climate Division. Time period runs from July of the El Niño onset year (e.g., 2004) through December of the succeeding year (e.g., 2005). Units are degrees Fahrenheit.

The graphs were produced by averaging the data for all El Niño events during the past century. A three-point running smoother was applied to the data after averaging. Note that all the graphs have been drawn to the same scale for ease in comparison.
