(March 3, 2010) -- Staffers from the National Weather Service forecast office in Little Rock, Ark. recently participated in the 24th Annual Hot Springs Boat, Tackle & RV Show at the Hot Springs Convention Center.
The staff set up a booth with a wide range of weather information, pamphlets, handouts and PowerPoint presentations emphasizing preparedness and safety tips. They also held a drawing for several NOAA Weather Radios provided by Midland Radio Corporation of Kansas City, Mo.
The Little Rock team also participated in the First Mate Program designed to provide educational weather information for Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts.
An estimated 1,000 people visited the booth to seek information and ask questions during the two day event.
The Annual Hot Springs Boat, Tackle & RV Show is designed for outdoor enthusiasts interested in land and water activities. The largest Boat and RV show in Arkansas, it featured over 100,000 square feet of exhibit space with hundreds of boats, RVs and specialty booths displaying fishing tackle, marine accessories and travel destinations.
