SRH Regional Operations Center a Hit on
"Bring Your Child To Work Day"

ROC Duty Office Chad Entremont (WFO Jackson) describes satellite imagery to youngsters visiting SRH Headquarters

(June 2, 2005) - Approximately 80 youngsters toured the National Weather Service Southern Region Operations Center and viewed a presentation on developing weather patterns and weather safety. The youngsters were part of a General Services Administration sponsored "Bring Your Child To Work Day" tour of the Fritz G. Lanham Federal Building in Fort Worth.

Visiting in five groups, the kids were particularly impressed with the big screen graphical AWIPS displays including real time radar and satellite imagery. GSA sponsors said the kids enjoyed their visit and thought the Southern Region Headquarters and the Regional Operations Center tours were definite highlights.
