The WFO Little Rock Aviation Team partnered with the Arkansas Aerospace Education Center (AEC) during the Feb. 10-13 premier weekend of the IMAX film "Forces of Nature." Located at the Little Rock National Airport, the IMAX theater is part of the AEC facility.
The WFO set up a National Weather Service floor display highlighting aviation services, severe weather preparedness, NOAA Weather Radio and requirements for becoming a National Weather Service meteorologist. The Aviation Team, consisting of Senior Forecaster Newton Skiles, Science and Operations Officer Christopher Buonanno and Meteorologist Intern Paul Iniguez, were on hand to answer questions and hand out NWS severe weather brochures at the Feb. 10th premier party for AEC members.
More than 300 people attended the party and approximately 1,600 people viewed the film during the first four days of its run in Little Rock. The film will continue at the IMAX for the next four months and the WFO display will remain at the AEC through that time.
