L3 Clouds: Cumulonimbus (Cb) without anvil
Cumulonimbus, the summits of which, at least partially, lack sharp outlines but are neither clearly fibrous (cirriform) nor in the form of an anvil; cumulus, stratocumulus or stratus may also be present.

Notes: No part of the cloud top has acquired a fibrous appearance or any anvil development. The protuberances tend to form a whitish mass without striations. Showers or thunderstorms may occur. The presence of lightning/thunder differentiate between L2 clouds and L3 clouds. Cumulus, stratocumulus or status may also be present.
