This graphical forecast page is a glimpse at the new forecast technology used by the National Weather Service to provide the best weather forecast available to the public. These images display the expected weather elements for a given time on a 1.6 mile grid. Because of the wide array of weather information available, the latest browser technology was utilized to display this information on a one-stop page. Therefore, this page is best suited for IE6+ , Netscape 7+, or any browser compatible with W3C standards for Javascript 1.2.

Forecast Weather
To best fill your needs for a forecast, this page is broken up in to sections:
  • Public pages contain data needed mostly by the general public -- high/low temperatures, rainfall, and wind.
  • Marine pages contain wind and wave information for mariners and water recreational users (for coastal locations only.)
  • Fire pages contain fire weather information such as relative humidity, wind, and temperature.
  • Aviation weather contains information most useful to aviators such as wind information.
Up to 7 days of forecast images are available for you to browse. To shift the time period, simply click on the icon arrows and the available information will shift by 12 hours.

Robust looping capabilities are also available. Looping controls allow you to either loops the image elements forward or backward. Loop speed controls the speed of the image loop, and dwell controls how long you wait between the end and beginning of the loop.

Finally, you can also make a printer friendly image of the forecast map by clicking on Print. A new window will pop-up with the information you need.
