TOPIC: Actions to take when issued a Subpoena.
REFERENCE: WSOM Chapters D-90, Section 9.2.
PARTICIPANTS: Any NWS employee.
PURPOSE: To provide NWS personnel instructions when subpoenaed.
CHANGES: None.
COMMENTS: If a subpoena is received, the local manager or designee should be contacted. The manager or designee should contact the NWS General Counsel’s office at (301) 713-1393. If no one is available, the local U.S. Attorney’s office should be contacted with an explanation of the situation and a request to “Quash” the subpoena..
