CARIBE WAVE/LANTEX 2014
CARIBE WAVE/LANTEX 2014 Tsunami Exercise will take place on March 26, 2014. Two scenarios are being planned: 1755 Transatlantic and Gulf of Mexico. Documents relating to the 2013 exercise.

The US National Weather Service established the Caribbean Tsunami Warning Program (CTWP) in Mayagüez, Puerto Rico in 2010 as a first step of a phased approach for the establishment of a Caribbean Tsunami Warning Center (CTWC).
The office currently provides education and preparedness services and support and guidance for tsunami observations, including seismic and sea level systems, tsunami forecasting and communications. It works closely with the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center and the West Coast and Alaska Tsunami Warning Center (renamed to National Tsunami Warning Center as of October 1, 2013) which are currently providing tsunami alert services to the Caribbean.
The CTWP also participates and supports activities of the UNESCO Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission's Intergovernmental Coordination Group for Tsunamis and Other Coastal Hazards Warning System for the Caribbean Sea and Adjacent Regions. It is staffed by one full time Scientist/Manager and Students. All are fully bilingual in English and Spanish. The Program provides briefings and materials for use by the general public, government, scientists and broadcast media.
The CTWP also interacts and participates in the UNESCO Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission's Intergovernmental Coordination Group for Tsunamis and Other Coastal Hazards Warning System for the Caribbean Sea and Adjacent Regions. Given significant advances in Tsunami outreach and education activities and monitoring and sensing capabilities in the Caribbean and Adjacent Regions, as of 2013, NOAA is evaluating whether to establish a Regional Tsunami Warning Center at the University of Puerto Rico Mayagüez or to consider proposing an alternative end state that does not result in a traditional NWS TWC, but ensures an equal or improved level of service.
The CTWP is collocated with the Puerto Rico Seismic Network at the University of Puerto Rico at Mayagüez.
