Anton (Tony) Albers was presented the Edward H. Stoll Award
for 50 years service as the Union City weather observer. Shown at the presentation is his wife Evelyn (left), Tony (center left), Carl Wilkens
(center right) of the Norman OK Forecast Office and Harry Hassel (right) Regional Director of Southern Region Headquarters, Fort Worth,
TX.
Tony Anton moved to Union City, OK from Tecumseh, NE when he was
six years old. His father Henry Albers became the official weather observer at Union City Feburary 1st 1923, since his death in 1940 the
weather station has continously been in the Albers family. Tony became
the observer January 1st 1946. Tonys wife Evelyn helps regularly with the observations working as a team . Tony was awarded the John Campanious
Holm Award in 1993.
