Hurricane Ike
The National Weather Service office serving Houston and the surrounding area has a preliminary report on Hurricane Ike. If you are intestested in what the maximum average winds from Ike were the Atlantic Oceanographic and Meteorological Laboratory (AOML) has a preliminary map of the winds in PDF format.

SMG Forecasters Earn NASA Recognition
SMG lead forecaster Tim Garner is the latest recipient of the "Silver Snoopy" award and Richard Lafosse has been selected as a NASA Spaceflight Awareness Honoree. Read more about the awards in the NWS Southern Region Press Release.
