February 2010 Warmest on record in San Juan, PR

 

The average temperature for the month of February 2010 was 80.0 degrees at the Luis Muñoz Marin International airport in San Juan. This was an incredible 3.1 degrees above the 30 year average and 0.1 degrees above the previous record of 79.9 set back in 1983. A record high temperature of 93 degrees was set on the 25th of the month and the first 90 degree temperature of 2010 was recorded on the 18th of the month. A total of 1.08 inches of rain fell in February, which was 1.22 inches below the normal (weekly cooperative weather summaries can be found here). By the end of the month, February 2010 ranked as the warmest February on record and the 11th driest February on record in San Juan.
