July 20th	Daily maximum rainfall of 1.14"	This broke the old record of 0.98" set back in 1962.
July 31st	Daily maximum rainfall of  1.56"	This broke the old record of 1.12" set back in 1957.
July 2012	Eight warmest July on record with an average temperature of 83.7°F	July 1980 ended as the warmest July on record with an average temperature of 85.1°F.
Summer 2012 (Jun-Jul-Aug)	Summer 2012 currently ranks as the third warmest summer on record with an average temperature of 84.7°F (as of July 31st).	Summer 1980 ended as the warmest summer on record with an average temperature of 85.1°F.

 Monthly Summary 

        July 2012 began with a vigorous tropical wave that affected the local islands on July 4^th and left rainfall accumulations of between 2 and 4 inches, as well as gusty winds. After the aforementioned tropical wave, a generally fair and mainly dry weather pattern prevailed with limited afternoon convection focused mostly across western Puerto Rico each day. During the last week of the month, another active tropical wave affected the local islands and left rainfall accumulation between 1 and 2 inches island wide with higher accumulations of up to 5 inches in the Patillas and Ponce areas along the Southern Slopes.
