BUFKIT is a tool used by many professional and novice forecasters. BUFKIT displays a profile of the atmosphere at a particular point which is very useful for diagnosing many atmospheric properties such as: instability, moisture depth, fog potential, precipitation type, storm mode and heavy rainfall threat.
Download the latest version: BUFKIT 13.4
Download a previous version: BUFKIT 11
Bufkit profiles do not update automatically. However, you are giving the option of downloading only the specific locations that you want through an application called BUFGET (which comes with the software package). Download each specific forecast profile from the desired model run and you are ready to go!
Here are some forecast points for sites within West Central Texas as well as the surrounding areas. Right click on the link and copy into the BUFGET application to retrieve data. You can also save the file directly into the BUFKIT data folder.
