NORTHERN CALDWELL PARISH IN NORTH CENTRAL LOUISIANA...
THIS INCLUDES THE CITY OF COLUMBIA...
EASTERN JACKSON PARISH IN NORTH CENTRAL LOUISIANA...
OUACHITA PARISH IN NORTH CENTRAL LOUISIANA...
THIS INCLUDES THE CITIES OF...WEST MONROE...SWARTZ...MONROE...
CLAIBORNE...BROWNSVILLE-BAWCOMVILLE...

* UNTIL 930 PM CDT

* AT 828 PM CDT...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE METEOROLOGISTS DETECTED A
LINE OF SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS CAPABLE OF PRODUCING DESTRUCTIVE WINDS
IN EXCESS OF 70 MPH. THESE STORMS WERE LOCATED ALONG A LINE
EXTENDING FROM SWARTZ TO 13 MILES WEST OF CLAIBORNE...OR ALONG A
LINE EXTENDING FROM SWARTZ TO 13 MILES EAST OF RUSTON...AND
SOUTH AT 20 MPH. A WIND GUST OF 60 MPH WAS MEASURED AT THE MONROE
AIRPORT.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

IN ADDITION TO LARGE HAIL AND DAMAGING WINDS...CONTINUOUS CLOUD TO
GROUND LIGHTNING IS OCCURRING WITH THIS STORM. MOVE INDOORS
IMMEDIATELY! LIGHTNING IS ONE OF NATURES NUMBER ONE KILLERS.
REMEMBER...IF YOU CAN HEAR THUNDER...YOU ARE CLOSE ENOUGH TO BE
STRUCK BY LIGHTNING.
