How Do I Become a SKYWARNTM Spotter?

First, contact your local county or city emergency manager or look at our class schedule for information on classes in your area. In the Deep South, SKYWARNTM classes are conducted from mid-September through October and from mid-January through April. Our expectation is that you attend a SKYWARNTM spotter course every two years. SKYWARNTM spotters report severe weather directly to the National Weather Service via a toll free telephone call or via amateur radio.
