In this
course, we will discuss the fundamentals of storm spotting including
definitions of severe weather, spotting techniques, and weather hazard safety
rules. A short quiz will follow the course presentation. The content in this
course is intended for educational and training purposes only.
This
presentation will provide some useful background for your training. However,
reliable storm spotting can not be learned through a course alone. Actual
observation of storm features in the field is the best learning method. Make
every effort to find a NWS sponsored class in your local area when they are
offered.
