The National Weather Service Office in Shreveport is honored to have two John Campanius Holm Award recipients for 2006. No more than 25 of these prestigious awards are given out annually across the entire country. This award was created in 1959 as a way for the National Weather Service to honor cooperative weather observers for outstanding accomplishments in the field of meteorological observations. Wilmer Ray Bailey of Jena, LA and Jessie Fay Barnes of Henderson, TX have joined another 19 John Campanius Holm Award winners in our four-state region.
