Our Mission

The mission of the Shreveport, Louisiana National Weather Service Forecast Office
    is to serve our users and customers by accomplishing the following goals...

 -To do our best to protect life and property through the timely issuance of effective watches, warnings
 and advisories of impending severe or hazardous weather conditions

 -To prepare and issue useful weather and hydrology forecasts and climatological information

 We will work hard to accomplish these goals through quality in our products and our services!

 Our users and customers and our service to them is the reason for our existence 
 as an agency of the United States Federal Government.
