MORNING...
...SNOW MOVING INTO THE NORTHLAND TONIGHT...

.THERE WILL BE LINGERING LAKE EFFECT SNOW IN PARTS OF NORTHWEST
WISCONSIN THIS MORNING...MAINLY ALONG AND NEAR THE GOGEBIC RANGE
IN IRON AND ASHLAND COUNTIES WHERE THERE COULD BE UP TO AN
ADDITIONAL FEW INCHES OF ACCUMULATION. ALSO...SNOW IS EXPECTED TO
MOVE INTO THE NORTHLAND FROM THE WEST TONIGHT AND EARLY FRIDAY.
THE GREATEST AMOUNTS OF SNOW...ABOUT 2 TO 4 INCHES...WILL FALL
FROM ABOUT CASS COUNTY IN NORTHEAST MINNESOTA TO BURNETT COUNTY IN
NORTHWEST WISCONSIN. THIS INCLUDES THE INTERSTATE 35 CORRIDOR IN
PINE COUNTY. TRAVEL COULD BE DIFFICULT DUE TO LOWER VISIBILITY IN
AND SLIPPERY CONDITIONS IN THE SNOW. THERE IS ALSO THE POTENTIAL
FOR SOME SLEET LATE THURSDAY MORNING AND THURSDAY AFTERNOON OVER

WEATHER ADVISORY FOR SNOW AND SLEET...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 10
PM THIS EVENING TO 4 PM CST FRIDAY.

* LOCATION...CASS COUNTY IN NORTHEAST MINNESOTA TO BURNETT COUNTY
  IN NORTHWEST WISCONSIN...INCLUDING THE BRAINERD AND AITKIN
  AREAS...AND THE INTERSTATE 35 CORRIDOR IN PINE COUNTY.

* TIMING...VERY LATE THIS EVENING THROUGH THE MIDDLE OF THURSDAY
  AFTERNOON. THE SNOW INTENSITY WILL PEAK LATE TONIGHT AND FRIDAY
  MORNING. THERE WILL THEN BE A TRANSITION TO A WINTRY MIXTURE OF
  LIGHT SNOW AND LIGHT SLEET LATE THURSDAY MORNING AND EARLY
  AFTERNOON.

* SNOW ACCUMULATIONS...2 TO 4 INCHES. LIGHT SLEET ACCUMULATION.

* WINDS/VISIBILITY...LIGHT WINDS. VISIBILITY COULD BE LESS THAN
  ONE HALF MILE AT THE PEAK OF SNOWFALL INTENSITY.

* IMPACTS...TRAVEL COULD BE DIFFICULT DUE TO LOWER VISIBILITY IN
  THE FALLING SNOW AND DUE TO SLIPPERY CONDITIONS DUE TO THE SNOW
  AND SLEET.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY FOR MIXED PRECIPITATION MEANS A MIXTURE
OF SNOW AND SLEET IS EXPECTED. MODERATE ACCUMULATIONS OF SNOW AND
LIGHT ACCUMULATIONS OF SLEET ARE EXPECTED ON UNTREATED ROADS AND
SIDEWALKS. ANYONE WITH TRAVEL PLANS SHOULD BE PREPARED FOR
SLIPPERY ROADS AND REDUCED VISIBILITY. SLOW DOWN WHEN DRIVING AND
ALLOW FOR EXTRA STOPPING DISTANCE BECAUSE YOU MAY LOSE CONTROL OF

.DAY ONE...THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT

MODERATE TO HEAVY LAKE EFFECT SNOW ACCUMULATIONS FOR PORTIONS OF
NORTHWEST WISCONSIN WILL CONTINUE THROUGH THURSDAY MORNING. THE
GREATEST SNOWFALL INTENSITY WILL OCCUR THIS AFTERNOON AND THIS
EVENING. WIDESPREAD SNOWFALL TOTALS OF 3 TO 6 INCHES ARE
EXPECTED...BUT THE NORTHERN PORTIONS OF ASHLAND AND IRON COUNTIES
CAN EXPECT ABOUT 6 TO 12 INCHES. TRAVEL COULD BE DIFFICULT TONIGHT
DUE TO THE ACCUMULATING SNOW AND LOW VISIBILITY IN THE HEAVIER
SNOW BANDS. THE LAKE EFFECT SNOW WILL GRADUALLY DIMINISH TONIGHT
AND THURSDAY MORNING. LAKE EFFECT SNOW WARNINGS HAVE BEEN ISSUED
FOR IRON AND ASHLAND COUNTIES...AND SNOW ADVISORIES FOR BAYFIELD
AND DOUGLAS COUNTIES. PLEASE READ THE LATEST WINTER WEATHER
MESSAGE FOR MORE INFORMATION.

THE COMBINATION OF COLD TEMPERATURES AND WINDS LATE TONIGHT COULD
SEE WIND CHILL TEMPERATURES APPROACHES. THERE COULD BE HAZARDOUSLY
COLD WIND CHILLS APPROACHING 25 DEGREES BELOW ZERO LATE TONIGHT.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...THURSDAY THROUGH TUESDAY

THERE WILL BE LINGERING LAKE EFFECT SNOW SHOWERS OVER IRON AND
ASHLAND COUNTIES THURSDAY MORNING...BUT THE SHOWERS WILL GRADUALLY
DIMINISH.

THERE WILL BE ANOTHER ROUND OF SNOW ACCUMULATION OVER THE
NORTHLAND THURSDAY NIGHT AND FRIDAY. EXPECT WIDESPREAD AMOUNTS OF
1 TO 3 INCHES...POSSIBLY MORE IN SOME AREAS.
