THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR EASTERN WEST VIRGINIA...
NORTHERN AND CENTRAL VIRGINIA...AND CENTRAL AND WESTERN MARYLAND
WITH THE EXCEPTION OF GARRETT COUNTY.

.DAY ONE...THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT

A FLOOD WATCH IS IN EFFECT FOR MOST OF THE AREA THIS AFTERNOON
THROUGH TONIGHT. MODERATE TO HEAVY RAINFALL WILL OVERSPREAD THE
REGION THIS AFTERNOON THROUGH TONIGHT. FLOODING OF LOW LYING AND
POOR DRAINAGE AREAS WILL BE POSSIBLE.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...MONDAY THROUGH SATURDAY

THE FLOOD WATCH CONTINUES INTO MONDAY MORNING FOR THE BALTIMORE-
WASHINGTON METROPOLITAN REGION.

THUNDERSTORMS ARE LIKELY LATE MONDAY AFTERNOON INTO THE EVENING
AHEAD OF A COLD FRONT. A FEW OF THE THUNDERSTORMS MAY BECOME
SEVERE WITH A THREAT OF DAMAGING WIND GUSTS AND LARGE HAIL.

STRONG GUSTY WINDS ARE POSSIBLE ESPECIALLY ACROSS THE RIDGELINES
BEHIND A COLD FRONT MONDAY NIGHT.

SPOTTER ACTIVATION MAY BE REQUIRED MONDAY AFTERNOON AND EVENING

* PORTIONS OF CENTRAL VIRGINIA...NORTHERN VIRGINIA...NORTHWEST
  VIRGINIA AND WESTERN VIRGINIA...INCLUDING THE FOLLOWING
  AREAS...IN CENTRAL VIRGINIA...ALBEMARLE...GREENE AND NELSON.
  IN NORTHERN VIRGINIA...CENTRAL VA BLUE RIDGE AND NORTHERN VA
  BLUE RIDGE. IN NORTHWEST VIRGINIA...MADISON...PAGE AND
  RAPPAHANNOCK. IN WESTERN VIRGINIA...AUGUSTA AND ROCKINGHAM.

* THROUGH LATE TONIGHT

* MODERATE TO LOCALLY HEAVY RAIN WILL OVERSPREAD THE REGION THIS
  AFTERNOON THROUGH TONIGHT. RAINFALL TOTALS OF ONE AND A HALF TO
  TWO INCHES ARE EXPECTED IN AREAS NEAR THE CENTRAL AND NORTHERN
  BLUE RIDGE MOUNTAINS. LOCALLY HIGHER AMOUNTS ARE POSSIBLE...
  ESPECIALLY ALONG AND IMMEDIATELY EAST OF THE BLUE RIDGE.

* EXPECT SMALL STREAMS AND CREEKS TO RISE...POSSIBLY OVERFLOWING
  THEIR BANKS. IN ADDITION...FLOODING MAY OCCUR IN LOW LYING AND
  POOR DRAINAGE AREAS.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A FLOOD WATCH MEANS THERE IS A POTENTIAL FOR FLOODING BASED ON
CURRENT FORECASTS.

PLEASE MONITOR LATER FORECASTS AND BE ALERT FOR POSSIBLE FLOOD
WARNINGS. THOSE LIVING IN AREAS PRONE TO FLOODING SHOULD BE
PREPARED TO TAKE ACTION SHOULD FLOODING DEVELOP.
