PORTIONS OF DEEP SOUTH TEXAS THIS AFTERNOON THROUGH EARLY
EVENING...

ABOVE NORMAL TEMPERATURES AND INCREASING MOISTURE LEVELS WILL CREATE
HEAT INDEX VALUES UP TO 110 DEGREES THIS AFTERNOON AND INTO EARLY
EVENING HOURS FOR THE EASTERN PORTIONS OF DEEP SOUTH TEXAS. HEAT
INDEX VALUES MAY BRIEFLY EXCEED 110 DEGREES IN ISOLATED
LOCATIONS...BUT THOSE OCCURRENCES WILL BE LIMITED IN AREAL
COVERAGE AND WILL NOT LAST MORE THAN ONE OR TWO HOURS.

ALL THOSE PARTICIPATING IN OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES SHOULD DRINK
PLENTY OF WATER...WEAR LIGHTWEIGHT...LIGHT COLORED...AND LOOSE
FITTING CLOTHING...AND TAKE FREQUENT BREAKS FROM THE HEAT IN THE
SHADE OR IN AIR CONDITIONED BUILDINGS.

NEVER LEAVE YOUNG CHILDREN OR PETS UNATTENDED IN VEHICLES. IN HOT
WEATHER...CAR INTERIORS CAN REACH LETHAL TEMPERATURES IN A MATTER
OF MINUTES. IF YOU OBSERVE CHILDREN OR PETS LEFT ALONE IN
CARS...BE SURE TO NOTIFY LAW ENFORCEMENT IMMEDIATELY. LOOK BEFORE
