A HEAT ADVISORY IS IN EFFECT FROM 1 PM THIS AFTERNOON UNTIL 8 PM
CDT THIS EVENING. THIS ADVISORY IS FOR HEAT INDICES AROUND 110
DEGREES OR GREATER AND INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING
COUNTIES...NUECES...KLEBERG...JIM WELLS...AND SAN PATRICIO. THE
ADVISORY IS ALSO IN EFFECT FOR THE METROPOLITAN AREAS OF LAREDO
AND VICTORIA. HEAT INDICES FROM 105 TO 109 DEGREES ARE EXPECTED IN
THE COUNTIES OF LA SALLE...MCMULLEN...LIVE
OAK...BEE...DUVAL...ARANSAS...REGUFIO...AND CALHOUN.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...TUESDAY THROUGH SUNDAY

HEAT INDEX VALUES FROM 105 AND 109 WILL BE POSSIBLE DAILY TUESDAY
THROUGH FRIDAY...WITH THE MOST WIDESPREAD HEAT INDICES ABOVE 105
DEGREES ON TUESDAY AND THURSDAY. COASTAL COUNTIES AND THE VICTORIA
AREA COULD SEE HEAT ADVISORY CONDITIONS ON THURSDAY...AND POSSIBLY
ON TUESDAY AS WELL.

THUNDERSTORMS ARE POSSIBLE FRIDAY OVER THE NORTHERN HALF OF SOUTH
TEXAS THEN OVER ALL OF SOUTH TEXAS SATURDAY AND SUNDAY.

.HOT TEMPERATURES THIS AFTERNOON WILL COMBINE WITH HIGH DEWPOINT
VALUES...RESULTING IN HEAT INDICES AROUND 110 DEGREES OVER
PORTIONS OF SOUTH TEXAS. THE HIGHEST HEAT INDICES WILL OCCUR
ACROSS THE COASTAL PLAINS AND IN THE METROPOLITAN AREAS.

* IMPACTS...EXTENDED OUTDOOR ACTIVITY COULD LEAD TO
  DEHYDRATION...HEAT EXHAUSTION OR HEAT STROKE IF PROPER
  PRECAUTIONS ARE NOT TAKEN.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A HEAT ADVISORY MEANS THAT HEAT INDICES OF 110 DEGREES OR HIGHER
ARE EXPECTED FOR AT LEAST TWO HOURS.

THE ELDERLY...THE VERY YOUNG...THE SICK...AND PEOPLE WITH HEART
CONDITIONS ARE MOST AT RISK IN EXTREME HEAT.

WEAR LIGHTWEIGHT...LIGHT-COLORED CLOTHING...AS IT REFLECTS HEAT
AND SUNLIGHT AND HELPS YOUR BODY STAY COOLER. DRINK PLENTY OF
LIQUIDS...PREFERABLY WATER...EVEN IF YOU DO NOT FEEL THIRSTY.
AVOID ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES.

TRY TO GET OUT OF THE HEAT FOR A FEW HOURS EACH DAY AND INTO AN
AIR CONDITIONED PLACE.

REDUCE...ELIMINATE...OR RESCHEDULE STRENUOUS ACTIVITIES TO THE
COOLEST TIMES OF THE DAY.
