THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR SOUTH TEXAS AND THE MIDDLE
TEXAS COASTAL WATERS.

.DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT

THERE IS A SLIGHT CHANCE FOR A THUNDERSTORM THIS AFTERNOON OVER
THE WESTERN PORTIONS OF SOUTH TEXAS...GENERALLY NEAR AND WEST
OF HIGHWAY 281. NO SEVERE WEATHER IS EXPECTED. AFTERNOON HEAT
INDICES BETWEEN 105 AND 109 DEGREES INCLUSIVE ARE EXPECTED OVER
MOST OF THE COASTAL BEND AS WELL AS THE RIO GRANDE PLAINS AND
EXTREME NORTHWESTERN PORTIONS OF THE BRUSH COUNTRY.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...SATURDAY THROUGH THURSDAY

HEAT INDEX VALUES BETWEEN 105 AND 109 WILL BE POSSIBLE DAILY THROUGH
MONDAY. ON SATURDAY...SOME LOCATINS MAY EXPERIENCE HEAT INDICES
AROUND OR MORE THAN 110 DEGREES FOR A FEW HOURS.

THE COMBINATION OF WARM TEMPERATURES AND HIGH DEWPOINTS WILL
PRODUCE HEAT INDICES BETWEEN 105 AND 109 DEGREES TODAY. AN AREA OR
TWO COULD HAVE HEAT INDICES AROUND 110 DEGREES FOR AN HOUR.
RESIDENTS WITH OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES PLANNED ARE URGED TO DRINK
PLENTY OF WATER...WEAR LIGHT WEIGHT AND LIGHT COLORED
CLOTHING...AND TAKE FREQUENT BREAKS FROM THE HEAT. YOUNG CHILDREN
AND PETS SHOULD NEVER BE LEFT UNATTENDED IN VEHICLES UNDER ANY
CIRCUMSTANCES. THIS IS ESPECIALLY TRUE DURING WARM OR HOT WEATHER
WHEN CAR INTERIORS CAN REACH LETHAL TEMPERATURES IN A MATTER OF
MINUTES.

HEAT INDICES OVER THESE AREAS COULD EXPERIENCE EVEN HIGHER HEAT
INDICES ON SATURDAY...POSSIBLY REACHING OR EXCEEDING 110 DEGREES
FOR A FEW HOURS. A HEAT ADVISORY MAY BE NEEDED OVER PORTIONS OF
SOUTH TEXAS ON SATURDAY.
