A river flood warning remains in effect for the Trinity River.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Persons are urged to stay away from the river until water levels recede.

Motorists should avoid any water covered roads and find an alternate route.

Livestock and equipment should remain out of the flood plain for the next few
days.

The Flood Warning continues for
  The Trinity River In Liberty
* until further notice...or until the warning is canceled.
* At 0815 AM Friday the stage was 28.1 feet.
* Moderate flooding is occurring and Moderate flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 26.0 feet. Moderate flood stage is 27.0 feet.
* Forecast...The river will remain near 28.1 feet.
* At 29.0 feet...Major lowland flooding begins as homes in several subdivisions
  above Liberty begin flooding. Extensive flooding over much of Liberty County
  can be expected with each incremental rise in the river.

* Minor flooding is occurring and Minor flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 12.2 feet.
* Forecast...The river will remain in minor flood stage through the forecast
  period.
  Additional rises may be possible thereafter.

OF SOUTHEAST TEXAS OVER THE HOLIDAY WEEKEND AND ON INTO NEXT WEEK...

THE COMBINATION OF GRADUALLY RISING AFTERNOON TEMPERATURES AND INCREASING
DEWPOINTS ARE EXPECTED TO PRODUCE HEAT INDICES BETWEEN 105 AND 110 DEGREES
ACROSS PORTIONS OF SOUTHEAST TEXAS OVER THE HOLIDAY WEEKEND AND ON INTO
NEXT WEEK. HEAT ADVISORIES MIGHT BE NEEDED.

ANYONE WITH OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES ARE URGED TO DRINK PLENTY OF WATER...WEAR
LIGHT WEIGHT AND LIGHT COLORED CLOTHING...AND TAKE FREQUENT BREAKS FROM
THE HEAT. TRY LIMITING STRENUOUS ACTIVITIES AND STAY IN SHADED AREAS
AS OFTEN AS POSSIBLE. YOUNG CHILDREN AND PETS SHOULD NEVER BE LEFT
UNATTENDED IN VEHICLES UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. CAR INTERIORS CAN
REACH LETHAL TEMPERATURES IN A MATTER OF MINUTES. ALSO MAKE SURE THOSE
THAT ARE OLDER AND THOSE THAT ARE SICK HAVE ACCESS TO AIR CONDITIONING.
