THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR PORTIONS OF NORTH CENTRAL
TEXAS...NORTHEAST TEXAS AND SOUTH CENTRAL TEXAS.

.DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT
A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY FOR FREEZING DRIZZLE...LIGHT FREEZING RAIN
AND/OR SLEET REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH 6 PM ALONG AND NORTHWEST OF A
LINE FROM TEMPLE TO ENNIS TO EMORY.

ADDITIONAL ICE ACCUMULATIONS OF A FEW HUNDREDTHS OF AN INCH ARE
EXPECTED. THIS WILL LIKELY CAUSE ADDITIONAL TRAVEL IMPACTS

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...SUNDAY THROUGH FRIDAY THERE IS A CHANCE OF
THUNDERSTORMS ACROSS MUCH OF NORTH TEXAS TUESDAY THROUGH WEDNESDAY.
CLOUD TO GROUND LIGHTNING AND GUSTY WINDS WILL BE THE PRIMARY
THREATS.

AN AREA OF LIGHT SLEET WILL SPREAD SOUTHEAST ACROSS THE REGION ON
WEDNESDAY AND WEDNESDAY NIGHT AS ANOTHER COLD FRONT MOVES THROUGH.

AREAS OF LIGHT FREEZING RAIN AND LIGHT FREEZING DRIZZLE WILL
CONTINUE MOVING ACROSS A LARGE PORTION OF NORTH AND CENTRAL TEXAS
THROUGH EARLY AFTERNOON. AREAS WEST THROUGH NORTH OF THE METROPLEX
MAY SEE AN FEW HUNDREDTHS OF AN INCH OF ICE ACCUMULATE ON LESS
TRAVELED ROADS AND ELEVATED SURFACE. ROADS ACROSS THE METROPLEX
AND TO THE EAST AND SOUTH SHOULD BE THAWING WITH ROADS BEING
MAINLY WET AND SLUSHY WHILE BRIDGES AND OVERPASSES REMAIN SLICK
BUT SLOWLY IMPROVING.

AT MIDDAY...THE FREEZING LINE RAN FROM SULPHUR SPRINGS TO GREENVILLE
TO HILLSBORO AND DOWN I-35 THROUGH CENTRAL TEXAS. THIS LINE WILL
CONTINUE TO MOVE NORTHWESTWARD THROUGH THE AFTERNOON...HELPING TO
IMPROVE ROADS.

OTEHRWISE...CLOUDS WILL HANG IN ALL DAY WITH NORTHEAST WINDS 5 TO
10 MPH AND WINDS IN THE MID 20S OVER THE NORTHWEST TO MID 30S IN
THE SOUTHEAST. PERIODS OF LIGHT FREEZING DRIZZLE OR LIGHT RAIN ARE
EXPECTED OFF AND ON DURING THE AFTERNOON.

THIRDS OF NORTH TEXAS TODAY...

.AN ARCTIC AIRMASS WILL REMAIN IN PLACE ACROSS THE NORTHWEST TWO
THIRDS OF NORTH TEXAS AND KEEP TEMPERATURES AT OR BELOW FREEZING
FOR A GOOD PART OF THE DAY. FREEZING DRIZZLE OR LIGHT FREEZING
RAIN CAN BE EXPECTED THROUGH MUCH OF THE AFTERNOON. TEMPERATURES
WILL SLOWLY CLIMB ABOVE FREEZING FROM SOUTHEAST TO NORTHWEST
THROUGH THE AFTERNOON...ALLOWING FOR A TRANSITION TO ALL LIQUID
PRECIPITATION.
