THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN AMARILLO HAS ISSUED A HEAT
ADVISORY...WHICH IS IN EFFECT UNTIL 9 PM CDT THIS EVENING.

* EVENT...HIGH TEMPERATURES ARE EXPECTED TO BE AROUND 105 DEGREES IN
  PALO DURO CANYON AND ACROSS PARTS OF THE NORTH CENTRAL TEXAS
  PANHANDLE AND THE CENTRAL OKLAHOMA PANHANDLE TODAY.

* TIMING...THE HIGHEST TEMPERATURES WILL BE REACHED BETWEEN 2 PM AND
  6 PM.

* IMPACTS...HEAT RELATED ILLNESSES WILL BE POSSIBLE IF PRECAUTIONS
  ARE NOT TAKEN.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A HEAT ADVISORY MEANS THAT A PERIOD OF HOT TEMPERATURES IS
EXPECTED. THE HOT TEMPERATURES MAY CREATE A SITUATION IN WHICH HEAT
ILLNESSES ARE POSSIBLE. DRINK PLENTY OF FLUIDS...STAY IN AN AIR
CONDITIONED ROOM...STAY OUT OF THE SUN...AND CHECK UP ON RELATIVES
AND NEIGHBORS.

THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR THE TEXAS AND OKLAHOMA
PANHANDLES.

.DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT.

A HEAT ADVISORY IS IN EFFECT TODAY FOR THE CENTRAL OKLAHOMA PANHANDLE
AND PARTS OF THE NORTH CENTRAL TEXAS PANHANDLE AND FOR PALO DURO
CANYON. HIGH TEMPERATURES ARE EXPECTED TO BE AROUND 105 DEGREES IN
THESE AREAS.

THUNDERSTORMS WILL BE POSSIBLE ACROSS THE OKLAHOMA PANHANDLE AND THE NORTHERN
TEXAS PANHANDLE THIS AFTERNOON. THEN THUNDERSTORMS WILL SPREAD FURTHER
SOUTHEAST TONIGHT. GUSTY WINDS...HAIL AND BRIEF HEAVY RAIN WILL BE
POSSIBLE WITH THE STRONGEST STORMS. BUT SEVERE WEATHER IS NOT LIKELY.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...SUNDAY THROUGH FRIDAY.

THUNDERSTORMS WILL BE POSSIBLE ACROSS THE PANHANDLES SUNDAY THROUGH
FRIDAY. MOST STORMS WILL REMAIN BELOW SEVERE LEVELS DURING THIS TIME
PERIOD. HOWEVER..A FEW SEVERE STORMS CANNOT BE RULED OUT. GUSTY
WINDS...HAIL...AND HEAVY RAIN WILL BE THE MAIN HAZARDS.
