...WINTER STORM TO IMPACT THE REGION THROUGH THE MIDDLE PART OF
THE WEEK...

.A SLOW MOVING LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM WILL IMPACT THE REGION TONIGHT
THROUGH THURSDAY MORNING...BRINGING PERIODS OF SNOW SHOWERS TO THE
AREA...ALONG WITH BITTER COLD AIR. SNOW SHOWERS WILL TO CONTINUE
OVER THE AREA TONIGHT...THEN TAPER OFF FROM THE SOUTHWEST ON
WEDNESDAY. IN THE VALLEY...MOSTLY LOCALIZED LIGHT SNOW
ACCUMULATIONS ARE EXPECTED. HOWEVER...IN THE EAST TENNESSEE
MOUNTAINS...MORE SIGNIFICANT SNOW IS EXPECTED ON AND OFF THROUGH
WEDNESDAY NIGHT...WITH AN ADDITIONAL 3 TO 6 INCHES EXPECTED ALONG
THE MOUNTAIN PEAKS ABOVE 4000 FEET...WITH A FEW HIGHER AMOUNTS
POSSIBLE ALONG THE HIGHEST PEAKS OF THE SMOKIES.

ADDITIONALLY...VERY COLD WIND CHILL TEMPERATURES WILL ACCOMPANY
THE SNOWS WITH READINGS IN THE SINGLE DIGITS IN THE VALLEY AND AS
COLD AS -5 TO -15 DEGREES IN THE MOUNTAINS BY TONIGHT...AND AGAIN

A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY FOR SNOW MEANS THAT PERIODS OF SNOW ARE
EXPECTED OR OCCURRING...BUT ACCUMULATIONS ARE EXPECTED TO BE
LIGHT.  DRIVING AND WALKING MAY BE DIFFICULT ON UNTREATED
ROADWAYS AND SIDEWALKS. BE PREPARED FOR SNOW COVERED ROADS AND
LIMITED VISIBILITIES. IF YOU MUST TRAVEL...SLOW DOWN AND ALLOW

TENNESSEE..AND PLATEAU THROUGH WEDNESDAY...
...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY ELSEWHERE THROUGH TONIGHT...

ARCTIC AIR WILL CONTINUE TO PULL INTO THE TENNESSEE VALLEY AND
SOUTHERN APPALACHIANS THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT. A WIND CHILL
ADVISORY IS IN EFFECT FROM THIS EVENING THROUGH THURSDAY MORNING
FOR THE HIGHER ELEVATIONS OF THE FAR EASTERN TENNESSEE MOUNTAINS.

PERIODS OF SNOW SHOWERS OR FLURRIES CAN BE EXPECTED. LIGHT SNOW
ACCUMULATIONS ACROSS THE VALLEY AND PLATEAU WITH HEAVIER AMOUNTS
OVER THE FAR EASTERN TENNESSEE MOUNTAINS AND HIGHER ELEVATIONS OF
SOUTHWEST VIRGINIA.

PLEASE REFER TO THE WINTER STORM WARNING AND ADVISORY PRODUCTS FOR
SNOW ACCUMULATION DETAILS.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...WEDNESDAY THROUGH MONDAY...

...MUCH COLDER AIR AND PERIODS OF SNOW SHOWERS/FLURRIES WILL
CONTINUE THROUGH WEDNESDAY...

SNOW SHOWERS AND FLURRIES WILL CONTINUE WEDNESDAY...GENERALLY ALONG
AND NORTH OF INTERSTATE 40...AND ACROSS THE FAR EASTERN TENNESSEE
MOUNTAINS AND HIGHER ELEVATIONS OF SOUTHWEST VIRGINIA. HEAVIER SNOW
ACCUMULATIONS WILL BE CONFINED ACROSS THE HIGHER TERRAIN.

BESIDES THE SNOW...HIGHS WEDNESDAY WILL ONLY CLIMB INTO THE MIDDLE
20S TO LOWER 30S WITH LOWS DROPPING INTO THE TEENS MOST LOCATIONS.
WIND CHILLS ACROSS THE HIGHER ELEVATIONS OF THE FAR EAST TENNESSEE
MOUNTAINS AND SOUTHWEST VIRGINIA WILL DROP TO 5 TO 15 DEGREES BELOW
ZERO AT TIMES. A WIND CHILL ADVISORY IS IN EFFECT FROM THIS EVENING
THROUGH THURSDAY MORNING FOR THE HIGHER ELEVATIONS OF THE FAR
EASTERN TENNESSEE MOUNTAINS.

ANOTHER SYSTEM WILL MOVE INTO THE AREA LATE SUNDAY NIGHT WITH
ARCTIC AIR ALREADY IN PLACE...SNOW WILL MOVE INTO THE AREA FROM
SOUTHWEST TO NORTHEAST. SNOW MAY TRANSITION TO A RAIN/SNOW MIX FOR
LOCATIONS SOUTH OF I-40 ON MONDAY. THIS SYSTEM IS STILL SEVERAL
DAYS AWAY SO PLEASE CHECK BACK OFTER FOR THE LATEST UPDATES.
