CAROLINA...EAST TENNESSEE AND SOUTHWEST VIRGINIA.

.DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT...

...LIGHT WINTRY MIX POSSIBLE EARLY THIS MORNING...

A WEAK WINTER WEATHER SYSTEM WILL MOVE ACROSS THE AREA THIS
MORNING AND WITH MORNING LOW TEMPERATURES EXPECTED TO BE AT OR
SLIGHTLY BELOW FREEZING SOME AREAS MAY EXPERIENCE LIGHT FREEZING
RAIN OR SLEET. A LIGHT GLAZE OF ICE MAY FORM ON ROADS AND OTHER
UNTREATED SURFACES.

LOCATIONS THAT WILL BE MOST LIKELY AFFECTED ARE GENERALLY ALONG
THE CUMBERLAND PLATEAU AND THE WEST TENNESSEE VALLEY

MOTORISTS ARE ADVISED TO EXERCISE CAUTION AND ALLOW EXTRA TIME TO
REACH THEIR DESTINATION FOR TODAYS MORNING COMMUTE...AS ROADS AND
OTHER UNTREATED SURFACES MAY BECOME SLIPPERY WITH LITTLE OR NO
WARNING...ESPECIALLY ELEVATED ROADS SUCH AS BRIDGES AND
OVERPASSES

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...FRIDAY THROUGH WEDNESDAY...

A DEVELOPING STORM SYSTEM WILL MOVE ACROSS THE TENNESSEE VALLEY AND
SOUTHERN APPALACHIANS TUESDAY NIGHT AND CHRISTMAS DAY. THE
RAIN WILL LIKELY CHANGE TO SNOW TUESDAY NIGHT ACROSS MUCH OF THE
AREA AS COLD AIR MOVES INTO THE SOUTHERN APPALACHIANS. SNOW SHOWERS
ARE EXPECTED CHRISTMAS DAY WITH ACCUMULATIONS POSSIBLE ACROSS THE
HIGHER ELEVATIONS.
