.AN UNUSUALLY STRONG LATE AUGUST STORM SYSTEM WILL MOVE NORTHWARD
ALONG THE COAST LATE TONIGHT THROUGH EARLY SATURDAY AFTERNOON AND
PRODUCE STRONG WINDS NEAR THE COAST AND OVER THE ADJACENT COASTAL
MOUNTAINS...AND WINDY CONDITIONS IN THE INLAND VALLEYS.

...WIND ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 6 AM TO NOON PDT SATURDAY FOR THE
CENTRAL AND SOUTH WILLAMETTE VALLEY...

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN PORTLAND HAS ISSUED A WIND
ADVISORY...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 6 AM TO NOON PDT SATURDAY.

* WINDS: SOUTH WINDS 15 TO 25 MPH WITH GUSTS 30 TO 40 MPH.

* TIMING: 6 AM TO NOON SATURDAY.

* LOCATIONS INCLUDE: EUGENE...SPRINGFIELD...CORVALLIS...
  ALBANY...SALEM...MCMINNVILLE.

* IMPACTS: WITH A FULL SET OF LEAVES ON TREES...THESE WINDS COULD
  CAUSE TREE DAMAGE AND LOCAL POWER DISRUPTIONS. THESE WINDS COULD
  CAUSE PROBLEMS FOR OUTDOOR EVENTS...ESPECIALLY THOSE WITH
  TEMPORARY OUTDOOR FACILITIES SUCH AS TENTS AND CANOPIES.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A WIND ADVISORY IS ISSUED WHEN SUSTAINED WINDS ARE FORECAST TO BE
31 TO 39 MPH OR GUSTS WILL RANGE BETWEEN 45 AND 57 MPH. WINDS OF
THESE MAGNITUDES MAY CAUSE MINOR PROPERTY DAMAGE WITHOUT EXTRA
PRECAUTIONS. MOTORISTS IN HIGH PROFILE VEHICLES SHOULD USE
CAUTION UNTIL THE WINDS SUBSIDE.
