THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR PORTIONS OF NM AND TX.

.DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT

A FLASH FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH MIDNIGHT FOR
SOUTHERN NEW MEXICO AND FAR WEST TEXAS WITH EASTERN PORTIONS OF
OTERO COUNTY CONTINUING UNDER THE WATCH UNTIL EARLY FRIDAY
MORNING. THE REMNANTS OF TROPICAL SYSTEM ODILE ARE MOVING OVER THE
AREA TODAY AND WILL EXIT THE REGION LATE TONIGHT. WIDESPREAD
MODERATE TO HEAVY RAINFALL WILL OCCUR THROUGH TONIGHT...ESPECIALLY
EAST OF THE RIO GRANDE. AN ADDITIONAL 1 TO 3 INCHES OF RAINFALL IS
POSSIBLE. RUN OFF FROM EXCESSIVE RAINFALL MAY LEAD TO FLASH
FLOODING ALONG DRAINAGES...ARROYOS...SMALL STREAMS AND LOW WATER
CROSSINGS. PONDING OF WATER IN POORLY DRAINED LOW LYING AREAS AND
ROADWAYS MAY OCCUR. RAINS WILL DIMINISH THIS EVENING FOR AREAS
WEST OF THE RIVER AND BY EARLY MORNING FOR AREAS EAST OF THE
RIVER.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...FRIDAY THROUGH WEDNESDAY

THE TROPICAL SYSTEM AND ABUNDANT MOISTURE WILL EXIT THE REGION BY
EARLY FRIDAY BUT RESIDUAL MOISTURE WILL PERSIST. RAIN CHANCES WILL
CONTINUE FRIDAY THROUGH WEDNESDAY WITH ISOLATED TO SCATTERED
SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS POSSIBLE IN THE AFTERNOON AND EVENING.
RAIN COVERAGES WILL BE SPOTTY WITH GENERALLY LIGHTER AMOUNTS
EXPECTED. STRONGER STORMS MAY PRODUCE PERIODS OF MODERATE TO HEAVY
RAINFALL WITH LOCALIZED MINOR FLOODING POSSIBLE.

...MODERATE TO HEAVY RAIN FROM THE REMNANTS OF HURRICANE ODILE
WILL MOVE ACROSS SOUTHERN NEW MEXICO AND FAR WEST TEXAS TONIGHT...

.THE REMNANTS OF WHAT IS LEFT OF HURRICANE ODILE WILL CONTINUE TO
MAKE SLOW PROGRESS THROUGH SOUTHERN NEW MEXICO TONIGHT. ABUNDANT
MOISTURE ASSOCIATED WITH THIS SYSTEM WILL GENERATE WIDESPREAD
HEAVY RAIN AND EMBEDDED THUNDERSTORMS OVER SOUTHERN NEW MEXICO
AND FAR WEST TEXAS THROUGH TONIGHT. AN ADDITIONAL 1 TO 3 INCHES
OF RAINFALL IS POSSIBLE OVER SOUTHERN NEW MEXICO WITH THE HIGHEST
AMOUNTS EXPECTED IN THE SACRAMENTO MOUNTAINS. THE THREAT FOR HEAVY
RAIN WILL BEGIN TO END LATER TONIGHT AFTER MIDNIGHT AS THE
REMNANTS OF ODILE SLOWLY PUSH TO THE EAST OF THE REGION.

  LOWLANDS OF THE BOOTHEEL...NORTHERN DONA ANA COUNTY...SIERRA

* SCATTERED SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS TODAY WITH MODERATE TO HEAVY
  RAIN AT TIMES AS THE REMNANTS OF ODILE MOVE ACROSS THE AREA .

* NORMALLY DRY ARROYOS...STREAMS...AND RIVER COULD BE QUICKLY
  FILLED WITH FAST MOVING WATER...MUD AND DEBRIS. LOW WATER
  CROSSINGS WILL LIKELY BECOME IMPASSABLE. FLOODING OF HOMES AND
  BUSINESSES IN LOW LYING AND FLOOD PRONE AREAS WILL BE POSSIBLE.
  SOME FLOODING COULD BECOME LIFE THREATENING. PEOPLE LIVING IN
  FLOOD PRONE AREAS SHOULD BE PREPARED TO TAKE ACTION IF RISING
  WATER IS SEEN.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A FLASH FLOOD WATCH MEANS THAT CONDITIONS MAY DEVELOP THAT LEAD
TO FLASH FLOODING. FLASH FLOODING IS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION.

YOU SHOULD MONITOR LATER FORECASTS AND BE PREPARED TO TAKE ACTION
SHOULD FLASH FLOOD WARNINGS BE ISSUED.
