MOUNTAINS AND SOUTHEAST NEW MEXICO PLAINS FROM LATE THIS MORNING
UNTIL 9 PM MDT FOR 20 FOOT WINDS OF 20 MPH OR MORE...RH OF 5 TO 15
PERCENT AND HIGH FIRE DANGER...

.AN UPPER LEVEL STORM SYSTEM WILL APPROACH WEST TEXAS AND
SOUTHEAST NEW MEXICO TODAY.  INCREASING SOUTHWEST AND WEST
WINDS WILL COMBINE WITH A VERY DRY AIRMASS AND HIGH FIRE DANGER
WEST OF A DRYLINE TO PRODUCE CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS
IN THE GUADALUPE MOUNTAINS AND SOUTHEAST NEW MEXICO PLAINS THIS
AFTERNOON AND EVENING.

THIS EVENING FOR GUSTY WINDS AND LOW HUMIDITY FOR THE GUADALUPE
MOUNTAINS AND ADJACENT PLAINS OF SOUTHEAST NEW MEXICO...

* WIND...PLAINS...SOUTHWEST 20 TO 30 MPH AND GUSTY. MOUNTAINS...
  SOUTHWEST WINDS 25 TO 45 MPH AND GUSTY.

* HUMIDITY...5 TO 15 PERCENT.

* IMPACTS...ANY FIRES THAT DEVELOP WILL LIKELY SPREAD RAPIDLY.
  OUTDOOR BURNING IS NOT RECOMMENDED.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

AVOID THE USE OF OPEN FLAMES OR ANY ACTIVITIES THAT MAY GENERATE
SPARKS. ACCIDENTAL IGNITIONS WILL HAVE THE POTENTIAL TO GROW
QUICKLY INTO DANGEROUS WIND- DRIVEN WILDFIRES.

THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR PORTIONS OF SOUTHEAST NEW
MEXICO...SOUTHWEST TEXAS AND WEST TEXAS.

.DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT

WARM, DRY AND WINDY CONDITIONS WILL OCCUR ACROSS THE GUADALUPE
MOUNTAINS AND OVER THE SOUTHEAST NEW MEXICO PLAINS THIS AFTERNOON.
RAPID FIRE GROWTH AND SPREAD WILL OCCUR WITH ANY FIRES THAT START,
SO CAUTION IS ADVISED.  A RED FLAG WARNING IS IN EFFECT FOR THESE
AREAS THIS AFTERNOON AND EVENING.

SOUTHWEST WINDS OF 40 TO 45 MPH, AND GUSTS NEAR 60 MPH, ARE EXPECTED
IN THE GUADALUPE MOUNTAINS THIS AFTERNOON AND THROUGH THIS
EVENING.  THEREFORE, A HIGH WIND WARNING IS IN EFFECT FOR THE
GUADALUPE MOUNTAINS FROM NOON UNTIL MIDNIGHT MDT.

SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS ARE EXPECTED TO DEVELOP ON A DRYLINE OVER
THE WESTERN LOW ROLLING PLAINS, PERMIAN BASIN AND LOWER TRANS PECOS
THIS AFTERNOON AND EVENING.  SOME OF THE STORMS WILL BE SEVERE WITH
AT LEAST GOLF BALL SIZE HAIL AND WIND GUSTS OVER 60 MPH.  BRIEF
HEAVY RAINFALL COULD ALSO OCCUR WITH THESE STRONGER STORMS.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...THURSDAY THROUGH TUESDAY

NEAR CRITICAL TO CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS ARE EXPECTED OVER
THE GUADALUPE MOUNTAINS, AND PERHAPS THE SOUTHEAST NEW MEXICO PLAINS
FRIDAY.  HOWEVER, WARM, WINDY AND DRY CONDITIONS COULD RESULT IN
MORE WIDESPREAD CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS FOR ALL OF
SOUTHEAST NEW MEXICO AND WEST TEXAS SATURDAY AND SUNDAY.
