...MULTIPLE ROUNDS OF HEAVY RAIN POSSIBLE THROUGH THE WEEKEND...

MULTIPLE ROUNDS OF THUNDERSTORMS WITH HEAVY RAIN ARE FORECAST
THROUGH SUNDAY.

AFTER THE RAIN WEDNESDAY NIGHT...THE NEXT CHANCE FOR RAIN WILL BE
LATER THURSDAY INTO FRIDAY...THEN AGAIN OVER THE WEEKEND.

THE HEAVY RAINS COULD LEAD TO OVERLAND FLOODING...AND FLOODING OF
CREEKS...STREAMS...AND RIVERS. THIS WOULD BE ESPECIALLY TRUE IF
THE RAIN FALLS IN THE SAME AREAS THAT RECEIVED SIGNIFICANT RAIN
LAST WEEKEND. IT WOULD ALSO BE TRUE IN AREAS THAT ARE NOT AS
WET...BUT GET SIGNIFICANT RAINS FROM NOW THROUGH THE WEEKEND.

STAY UP TO DATE AT WWW.WEATHER.GOV/BIS AND FOLLOW THE NATIONAL
WEATHER SERVICE ON SOCIAL MEDIA. STAY WEATHER READY.

Hydrologic Outlook

HYDROLOGIC OUTLOOK
NDZ001>005-009>013-017>023-025-031>037-040>048-050-051-211030-

HYDROLOGIC OUTLOOK
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE BISMARCK ND
522 AM CDT WED AUG 20 2014 /422 AM MDT WED AUG 20 2014/

...SEVERAL ROUNDS OF HEAVY RAIN THROUGH THE WEEKEND...

TWO TO FIVE INCHES OF RAINFALL IS FORECAST ACROSS MUCH OF WESTERN
AND CENTRAL NORTH DAKOTA THROUGH THE WEEKEND. THE FIRST ROUND OF
HEAVY RAIN WILL BEGIN THIS AFTERNOON AND END THURSDAY MORNING.
ADDITIONAL ROUNDS ARE FORECAST THURSDAY NIGHT THROUGH THE
WEEKEND.

FOR THE MISSOURI RIVER TRIBUTARIES...
THE KNIFE AND HEART RIVERS AND APPLE CREEK WERE HIT PARTICULARLY
HARD BY HEAVY RAIN LAST WEEKEND. THESE RIVERS ARE RUNNING WELL
ABOVE NORMAL. RAINFALL GREATER THAN ONE INCH MAY RESULT IN
OVERLAND FLOODING...POSSIBLY TRANSITIONING INTO FLOODING ALONG SMALL
STREAMS AND RIVERS.

IN THE SOURIS AND JAMES RIVER BASINS...
UNLESS RECEIVED IN A DOWNPOUR...SOILS SHOULD BE ABLE TO HANDLE
TWO TO THREE INCHES OF RAIN FROM THE FIRST ROUND OF THUNDERSTORMS
TODAY AND TONIGHT. SUBSEQUENT HEAVY RAINS WOULD LIKELY RESULT IN
EXCESSIVE RUNOFF...SO OVERLAND AND SMALL STREAM FLOODING IS
POSSIBLE.

KEEP INFORMED OF THE LATEST WEATHER AND WATER CONDITIONS AT
WEATHER.GOV/BIS.
