A MIX OF SNOW...SLEET...RAIN AND FREEZING RAIN WILL MOVE ACROSS
PORTIONS OF FAR NORTHEAST MINNESOTA THIS MORNING AND INTO THE
EARLY AFTERNOON. SNOW AND SLEET ACCUMULATIONS WILL BE LIMITED TO 1
TO 4 INCHES...WITH THE HIGHEST AMOUNTS INTO THE LAKE AND COOK
COUNTIES. LIGHT ICE ACCUMULATION IS ALSO POSSIBLE FROM ELY TO
VIRGINIA TO DULUTH. WINTER WEATHER ADVISORIES ARE IN EFFECT. CHECK
THE LATEST ADVISORY FOR DETAILS.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...SUNDAY THROUGH FRIDAY

THUNDERSTORMS ARE POSSIBLE ON WEDNESDAY. SEVERE WEATHER IS NOT
EXPECTED.

...A WINTRY MIX EXPECTED THIS MORNING ACROSS THE ARROWHEAD...

.A LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM WILL MOVE ACROSS THE NORTHLAND TODAY AND
PRODUCE A MIXTURE OF FREEZING RAIN...SLEET AND SNOW. THE WINTRY
MIX WILL CONTINUE TO DEVELOP EARLY THIS MORNING AND EXPAND
QUICKLY EASTWARD LATE THIS MORNING. ICE ACCUMULATION IS EXPECTED
TO GENERALLY REMAIN UNDER A QUARTER INCH. THERE IS A CHANCE FOR
HIGHER ICE ACCUMULATIONS JUST NORTH OF THE TWIN PORTS INTO THE
ARROWHEAD. SNOW AND SLEET ACCUMULATION WILL RANGE FROM 2 TO 4
INCHES OVER THE ARROWHEAD. IF YOU WILL BE DRIVING ACROSS THE
NORTHLAND THIS MORNING...BE AWARE THAT ROADS MAY BECOME SLIPPERY.

* LOCATION...NORTHEASTERN MINNESOTA...INCLUDING ELY...CRANE
  LAKE...DULUTH...CLOQUET...AND HIBBING.

* TIMING...THROUGH NOON TODAY. MIXED PRECIPITATION THIS MORNING
  WILL TRANSITION TO MAINLY RAIN BY THIS AFTERNOON.

* SNOW/ICE ACCUMULATIONS...TOTAL SNOW AND SLEET ACCUMULATION IS
  EXPECTED TO RANGE FROM 1 TO 3 INCHES NEAR THE INTERNATIONAL
  BORDER TO AN INCH OR LESS FURTHER SOUTH. ICE ACCUMULATION IS
  EXPECTED TO BE LESS THAN A QUARTER INCH.

* IMPACTS...THE MIX OF FREEZING RAIN...SLEET AND SNOW COULD
  POTENTIALLY MAKE ROADS SLIPPERY IN A SHORT PERIOD OF TIME.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY FOR MIXED PRECIPITATION MEANS A MIXTURE
OF FREEZING RAIN...SNOW AND SLEET IS EXPECTED. SMALL
ACCUMULATIONS OF SNOW AND ICE ARE EXPECTED ON UNTREATED ROADS AND
SIDEWALKS. ANYONE WITH TRAVEL PLANS SHOULD BE PREPARED FOR
SLIPPERY ROADS AND REDUCED VISIBILITY. SLOW DOWN WHEN DRIVING AND
ALLOW FOR EXTRA STOPPING DISTANCE BECAUSE YOU MAY LOSE CONTROL OF
YOUR VEHICLE IF YOU TRY TO SLOW DOWN OR STOP QUICKLY.
