A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY HAS BEEN POSTED FOR AREAS FROM DULUTH
AND CLOQUET NORTHWARD TO THE INTERNATIONAL BORDER...STARTING AT
MIDNIGHT TONIGHT. A FAST MOVING AND INTENSE LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM
WILL BRING AN ICY MIXTURE OF FREEZING RAIN...SLEET AND SNOW TO
THE ADVISORY AREA. ICE ACCUMULATION SHOULD REMAIN UNDER A QUARTER
INCH...AND SNOWFALL WILL LIKELY RANGE FROM 3 TO 6 INCHES IN THE
FAR ARROWHEAD TO AN INCH OR TWO FURTHER SOUTH. SEE THE LATEST

.A FAST MOVING LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM WILL MOVE QUICKLY ACROSS THE
NORTHERN PLAINS AND UPPER MIDWEST TONIGHT AND SATURDAY. AN ICY
MIXTURE OF FREEZING RAIN...SLEET AND SNOW IS EXPECTED TO DEVELOP
RAPIDLY OVERNIGHT...AND EXPAND QUICKLY EASTWARD AFTER MIDNIGHT.
ICE ACCUMULATION IS EXPECTED TO GENERALLY REMAIN UNDER A QUARTER
INCH...WITH SNOW ACCUMULATION RANGING FROM 3 TO 6 INCHES IN THE
TIP OF THE ARROWHEAD TO AN INCH OR TWO FURTHER SOUTH TOWARD
DULUTH. IF YOU WILL BE DRIVING ACROSS THE NORTHLAND TONIGHT AND

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN DULUTH HAS ISSUED A WINTER
WEATHER ADVISORY FOR SNOW...SLEET AND...FREEZING RAIN...WHICH IS
IN EFFECT FROM MIDNIGHT TONIGHT TO 10 AM CDT SATURDAY.

* LOCATION...NORTHEASTERN MINNESOTA...INCLUDING INTERNATIONAL
  FALLS...GRAND RAPIDS...DULUTH...CLOQUET...HIBBING AND ELY.

* TIMING...MIDNIGHT TONIGHT THROUGH 10 AM SATURDAY

* SNOW/ICE ACCUMULATIONS...TOTAL SNOW ACCUMULATION IS EXPECTED TO
  RANGE FROM 2 TO 4 INCHES NEAR THE INTERNATIONAL BORDER TO AN
  INCH OR TWO FURTHER SOUTH. ICE ACCUMULATION IS EXPECTED TO BE
  LESS THAN A QUARTER INCH.

* IMPACTS...THE MIX OF FREEZING RAIN...SLEET AND SNOW IS EXPECTED
  TO MAKE ROADS SLIPPERY IN A SHORT PERIOD OF TIME.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY FOR MIXED PRECIPITATION MEANS A MIXTURE
OF FREEZING RAIN...SNOW AND SLEET IS EXPECTED. SMALL ACCUMULATIONS
OF SNOW AND ICE ARE EXPECTED ON UNTREATED ROADS AND SIDEWALKS.
ANYONE WITH TRAVEL PLANS SHOULD BE PREPARED FOR SLIPPERY ROADS AND
REDUCED VISIBILITY. SLOW DOWN WHEN DRIVING AND ALLOW FOR EXTRA
STOPPING DISTANCE BECAUSE YOU MAY LOSE CONTROL OF YOUR VEHICLE IF
YOU TRY TO SLOW DOWN OR STOP QUICKLY.
