...WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 PM EST THIS
EVENING...

* PRECIPITATION TYPE...SNOW.

* ACCUMULATIONS...4 TO 8 INCHES...LOCALLY 8 TO 18 INCHES IN THE
  POTOMAC HIGHLANDS.

* TIMING...SNOW WILL END FROM SOUTHWEST TO NORTHEAST AFTER 3 PM
  THIS AFTERNOON.

* TEMPERATURES...UPPER 20S TO LOWER 30S ABOVE 1000 FEET. LOWER 30S
  BELOW 1000 FEET.

* WINDS...NORTHWEST 5 TO 10 MPH WITH GUSTS AROUND 15 MPH.

* IMPACTS...ROADS ARE SNOW COVERED AND SLIPPERY AND VISIBILITY MAY
  BE REDUCED BELOW A HALF MILE AT TIMES. THE WORST CONDITIONS ARE
  EXPECTED ABOVE 1000 FEET. INTERSTATES 68...81 AND 64 WILL BE
  IMPACTED BY THE SNOW. SNOW WILL HAVE A SIGNIFICANT IMPACT ON
  HOLIDAY TRAVEL PLANS. HEAVY AMOUNTS OF WET SNOW MAY CAUSE DOWNED
  TREES THAT LEAD TO AN ENHANCED THREAT FOR POWER OUTAGES.

A WINTER STORM WARNING FOR HEAVY SNOW MEANS SEVERE WINTER WEATHER
CONDITIONS ARE EXPECTED OR OCCURRING. SIGNIFICANT AMOUNTS OF SNOW
ARE FORECAST THAT WILL MAKE TRAVEL DANGEROUS. ONLY TRAVEL IN AN

A WINTER STORM WARNING IS IN EFFECT FOR FAR NORTHERN AND WESTERN
SUBURBS OF BALTIMORE AND WASHINGTON...AS WELL AS LOCATIONS NEAR
THE MASON- DIXON LINE AND AREAS WEST FROM THE BLUE RIDGE
MOUNTAINS THROUGH THE REST OF TODAY. A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IS
IN EFFECT FOR NORTH-CENTRAL PORTIONS OF THE VIRGINIA PIEDMONT.
