TO 1 AM EST TUESDAY...

* LOCATIONS...INCLUDES MOST OF MASSACHUSETTS AND RHODE ISLAND
  AWAY FROM THE IMMEDIATE SOUTH COASTS. THE WARNING ALSO
  INCLUDES NORTHERN CONNECTICUT.

* HAZARD TYPES...HEAVY SNOW.

* ACCUMULATIONS...SNOW ACCUMULATION OF 10 TO 14 INCHES NORTH OF
  THE PIKE. 6 TO 12 INCHES OF SNOWFALL IS EXPECTED SOUTH OF THE
  PIKE...ALONG WITH AROUND A TRACE OF ICE.

* TIMING...SNOW DEVELOPS AFTER MIDNIGHT TONIGHT. SNOW FALLS HEAVY
  AT TIMES MONDAY MORNING AT THE RATE OF 1 TO 3 INCHES PER HOUR
  WHICH WILL IMPACT THE MORNING RUSH HOUR. SNOW WILL LIKELY MIX
  WITH AND CHANGE TO A PERIOD OF SLEET AND FREEZING RAIN AND
  POSSIBLY PLAIN RAIN FOR A TIME LATE MONDAY MORNING INTO THE
  AFTERNOON. ANY MIXED PRECIPITATION WILL CHANGE BACK TO SNOW MID
  TO LATE AFTERNOON BEFORE ENDING MONDAY EVENING.

* WINDS...NORTHEAST 5 TO 15 MPH WITH GUSTS UP TO 35 MPH.

* IMPACTS...HAZARDOUS TRAVEL IS EXPECTED WITH SNOW COVERED ROADS
  AND POOR VISIBILITY. BLOWING AND DRIFTING SNOW ALSO EXPECTED...
  ESPECIALLY ALONG THE COAST.

* WINDS...NORTHEAST 5 TO 15 MPH WITH GUSTS UP TO 35 MPH.

* VISIBILITIES...ONE QUARTER MILE OR LESS AT TIMES.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A WINTER STORM WARNING IS ISSUED WHEN AN AVERAGE OF 6 OR MORE
INCHES OF SNOW IS EXPECTED IN A 12 HOUR PERIOD...OR FOR 8 OR MORE
INCHES IN A 24 HOUR PERIOD. TRAVEL WILL BE SLOW AT BEST ON WELL
TREATED SURFACES...AND QUITE DIFFICULT ON ANY UNPLOWED OR
UNTREATED SURFACES.

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN TAUNTON HAS ISSUED A COASTAL
FLOOD ADVISORY...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 9 AM TO NOON EST MONDAY.

* LOCATION...THE SOUTH SHORE OF THE EASTERN MASSACHUSETTS
  COASTLINE.

* COASTAL FLOODING...POCKETS OF MINOR COASTAL FLOODING POSSIBLE.

* TIMING...DURING THE MID TO LATE MONDAY MORNING HIGH TIDE CYCLE.

* IMPACTS...POCKETS OF MINOR COASTAL FLOODING AND SPLASH OVER
  POSSIBLE. WHILE NO MAJOR ISSUES ARE ANTICIPATED...AREAS FROM
  HULL...TO SCITUATE...TO MARSHFIELD AND DUXBURY WERE HIT QUITE
  HARD FROM LAST WEEK/S BLIZZARD. THIS MAY DELAY SOME OF THE
  CLEANUP AND REPAIR/S ON GOING IN THAT REGION.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A COASTAL FLOOD ADVISORY IS ISSUED FOR MINOR COASTAL FLOODING OF
THE MOST VULNERABLE SHORE ROADS AND/OR BASEMENTS DUE TO THE
HEIGHT OF STORM TIDE OR WAVE SPLASHOVER.  THE MAJORITY OF ROADS
REMAIN PASSABLE WITH ONLY ISOLATED CLOSURES.  THERE IS NO
SIGNIFICANT THREAT TO LIFE AND ANY IMPACT ON PROPERTY IS MINIMAL.
