THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN TAUNTON HAS ISSUED A WINTER
WEATHER ADVISORY FOR SNOW AND BLOWING SNOW...WHICH IS IN EFFECT
UNTIL 1 AM EST WEDNESDAY.

* LOCATIONS...EASTERN AND SOUTHEASTERN MASSACHUSETTS AS WELL AS
  ALL OF RHODE ISLAND. THIS INCLUDES THE CITIES AND TOWNS OF
  FRAMINGHAM...LOWELL...LAWRENCE...FOXBORO...NORWOOD...CAMBRIDGE
   ...BOSTON...QUINCY...TAUNTON...BROCKTON...PLYMOUTH...FALL
  RIVER... NEW BEDFORD...MATTAPOISETT...FOSTER...SMITHFIELD...
  PROVIDENCE... WEST GREENWICH...WARWICK...BRISTOL...
  NARRAGANSETT...WESTERLY... NEWPORT AND BLOCK ISLAND.

* HAZARD TYPES...SNOW AND BLOWING SNOW.

* ACCUMULATIONS...ADDITIONAL ACCUMULATION OF AN INCH OR 2.

* TIMING...BANDS OF SNOW WILL TAPER OFF AROUND MIDNIGHT BUT
  SCATTERED SNOW SHOWERS AND AREAS OF BLOWING SNOW WILL PERSIST
  THROUGH TONIGHT.

* IMPACTS...ROADS WILL REMAIN SNOW COVERED AND SLIPPERY EVEN
  ONCE THE SNOW ENDS. GUSTY WINDS WILL CONTINUE TO RESULT IN
  BLOWING AND DRIFTING SNOW THROUGH MIDNIGHT CREATING HAZARDOUS
  TRAVEL.

* WINDS...NORTHWEST 20 TO 30 MPH WITH GUSTS UP TO 40 MPH.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IS ISSUED WHEN SNOW AND/OR ICE IS
FORECAST TO DEVELOP IN THE AFFECTED AREAS...BUT ACCUMULATIONS ARE
EXPECTED TO BE LIGHT. ANY SNOW OR ICE WOULD RESULT IN SLIPPERY
CONDITIONS ON UNTREATED ROADWAYS AND SIDEWALKS. WHEN TEMPERATURES
ARE BELOW FREEZING...MOTORISTS NEED TO BE ESPECIALLY CAREFUL ON
BRIDGES AND OVERPASSES WHERE SLIPPERY SPOTS CAN EASILY DEVELOP.
