THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR NORTHWESTERN
CONNECTICUT...WESTERN MASSACHUSETTS...EAST CENTRAL NEW YORK AND
SOUTHERN VERMONT.

.DAY ONE...THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT.

THE PROBABILITY FOR WIDESPREAD HAZARDOUS WEATHER LOW AT THIS TIME.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...MONDAY THROUGH SATURDAY.

A SIGNIFICANT WINTER STORM WITH HEAVY PRECIPITATION AND STRONG
WINDS IS EXPECTED TO IMPACT THE AREA FROM LATE MONDAY THROUGH
TUESDAY. PRECIPITATION WILL START AS SNOW MONDAY EVENING...THEN
TRANSITION TO A WINTRY MIX OF SNOW...SLEET AND OR FREEZING RAIN
OVERNIGHT INTO EARLY TUESDAY MORNING. AS WARMER AIR MOVES INTO THE
REGION...FROZEN PRECIPITATION WILL LIKELY CHANGE TO RAIN BY
TUESDAY MORNING ACROSS MUCH OF THE AREA. THERE IS STILL
CONSIDERABLE UNCERTAINTY REGARDING EXACT PRECIPITATION TYPES AND
AMOUNTS...WHICH WILL ULTIMATELY DEPEND ON THE EXACT TRACK OF THIS
STORM SYSTEM. IF CONFIDENCE INCREASES...A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY
WOULD BE ISSUED.

WITH WARMER TEMPERATURES NOW FORECAST FOR TUESDAY...THERE IS THE
POTENTIAL FOR HEAVY RAIN WITH RAPID RUNOFF DUE TO FROZEN GROUND.
THIS COULD LEAD TO FLOODING OF URBAN AND POOR DRAINAGE
LOCATIONS...AS WELL AS LOW LYING AREAS. ALSO ISOLATED FLASH
FLOODING IS POSSIBLE. SHOULD CONFIDENCE INCREASES FOR FLOODING...A
FLOOD WATCH WOULD BE ISSUED.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

SPOTTER ACTIVATION IS NOT EXPECTED AT THIS TIME.
