DAVIS AND SOUTHERN ALLEN PARISHES. MOST OF THIS PRECIPITATION FELL
DURING THE MORNING HOURS...BUT AS A RESULT OF THE EXTREME RAINFALL
AMOUNTS...SOME FLOODING OF AREA ROADWAYS AND LOW LYING AREAS MAY
CONTINUE THROUGH THE NIGHT.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

MOST FLOOD DEATHS OCCUR IN AUTOMOBILES. NEVER DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO
AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE ROADWAY. FLOOD WATERS ARE USUALLY
DEEPER THAN THEY APPEAR. JUST ONE FOOT OF FLOWING WATER IS POWERFUL
ENOUGH TO SWEEP VEHICLES OFF THE ROAD. WHEN ENCOUNTERING FLOODED
ROADS MAKE THE SMART CHOICE...TURN AROUND...DONT DROWN.

...FLASH FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT THROUGH TONIGHT...

.RAINFALL TOTALS IN SOME LOCATIONS IN SOUTHWEST LOUISIANA ARE
ABOVE SIX INCHES... AN ADDITIONAL TWO TO THREE INCHES OF RAINFALL
WILL POSSIBLE AS STORMS TRAIN ACROSS THE REGION.

THE GROUND IS COMPLETELY SATURATED AND ADDITIONAL RAINS WILL TRY
TO SPILL INTO DITCHES AND BAYOUS WHICH HAVE NOW FILLED TO
CAPACITY. THIS WILL CAUSE WATER TO FLOW INTO LOW LYING AREAS WITH
PONDING ON ROAD SURFACES. EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT IN CALCASIEU
PARISH ARE ASKING PERSONS DRIVING TO USE CAUTION WHILE DRIVING AS
SOME AREA ROADS ARE NOW CLOSED.

CHANCES OF SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS TO SLOWLY DIMINISH THIS
EVENING.
