PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...


Do not drive vehicles through flooded waterways.  Use caution when
walking near flooded riverbanks.  Do not try to wade or swim in
flooded rivers and bayous.

...The flood warning extended until further notice...The flood
warning continues for
  the Red River At Shreveport, Louisiana.
* until further notice...or until the warning is cancelled.
* At 1000 AM Thursday The stage was 32.1 feet.
* Moderate flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 30 feet.
* Forecast...The river will continue to fall to a stage of 31.6 feet
  by Friday morning.  Also the river crested during Wednesday morning
  at 32.4 feet.
* Impact...at 32.5 feet...The area south of Interstate 20 and Traffic
  street exit and also near Hamilton Road area in Bossier City
  floods. Also the south part of Martin Luther King drive in north
  Shreveport is flooded and closed.

  the Red River At Coushatta, Louisiana.
* until further notice...or until the warning is cancelled.
* At 1000 AM Thursday The stage was 33.4 feet.
* Moderate flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 31 feet.
* Forecast...The river will continue rising to near 34.0 feet by
  Friday morning then begin falling.
* Impact...at 34.0 feet...Moderate flooding occurs.  Severe backwater
  flooding occurs from the confluence of the Red River with Loggy
  Bayou through the lower Flat River and Red Chute Bayou in southern
  Bossier Parish.   Cattle and equipment should be moved to higher
  ground away from levees.

The flood warning continues for
  the Big Cypress Bayou At Caddo Lake.
* until further notice...or until the warning is cancelled.
* At 820 AM Thursday The pool stage was 175.9 feet.
* Moderate flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 172 feet.
* Forecast...Expect little change through Friday morning as the
  lake crests near 176 feet.
* Impact...at 175.0 feet...Homeowners should rush preparations to
  completion for significant flooding problems. Nearly all homes that
  are not stilted face flooding. Boats should be moved from
  boathouses and into open water to prevent them from rising through
  the boathouse roof.
