...FLASH FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT THROUGH SUNDAY MORNING...

THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR PORTIONS OF SOUTH CENTRAL
AND EAST CENTRAL KENTUCKY.

.DAY ONE...OVERNIGHT.

WIDESPREAD SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS ARE EXPECTED OVERNIGHT. THE
MAIN HAZARDOUS WEATHER THREAT WILL TORRENTIAL RAINFALL ALONG WITH
CLOUD TO GROUND LIGHTNING. HEAVY RAINFALL IS EXPECTED TO PICK UP THIS
EVENING AND CONTINUE THROUGH THE OVERNIGHT HOURS. LOCATIONS THAT
GET STUCK UNDER REPEATED THUNDERSTORM ACTIVITY COULD SEE SOME FLOODING
PROBLEMS IN SPOTS THAT COLLECT WATER EASILY. FOR THIS REASON...A
FLASH FLOOD WATCH IS IN EFFECT THROUGH SUNDAY MORNING.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...SUNDAY THROUGH FRIDAY.

SCATTERED TO NUMEROUS THUNDERSTORMS ARE EXPECTED SUNDAY WITHIN A
VERY HUMID AND TROPICAL AIR MASS. SOME OF THESE STORMS WILL PRODUCE
LOCALLY HEAVY RAIN. IN AREAS WITH REPEATED STORMS SOME RUNOFF
PROBLEMS MAY DEVELOP.

ISOLATED TO SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS ARE POSSIBLE DURING THE
AFTERNOON AND EVENING HOURS EACH DAY THIS WEEK. ANY STORM THAT
DEVELOPS WILL CONTAIN LIGHTNING WITH THE POSSIBILITY OF GUSTY
WINDS AND LOCALIZED HEAVY RAINFALL.

CENTRAL AND EAST CENTRAL KENTUCKY...

.A PLUME OF TROPICAL MOISTURE WILL CONTINUE TO PUMP COPIOUS
AMOUNTS OF MOISTURE FROM THE GULF OF MEXICO INTO THE OHIO VALLEY.
MULTIPLE UPPER LEVEL DISTURBANCES WILL MOVE NORTHEASTWARD ACROSS
THE REGION YIELDING ROUND OF SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS. WITH SUCH
RICH MOISTURE IN PLACE...TORRENTIAL RAINFALL WILL OCCUR WITH THE
THUNDERSTORMS OVERNIGHT AND INTO EARLY SUNDAY MORNING.

* A SURGE OF TROPICAL MOISTURE FROM THE GULF OF MEXICO WILL BRING
  COPIOUS AMOUNTS OF MOISTURE TO THE OHIO VALLEY OVERNIGHT AND
  SUNDAY MORNING. ROUNDS OF SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS ARE EXPECTED
  OVERNIGHT AND THESE STORMS WILL BE CAPABLE OF PRODUCING
  TORRENTIAL RAINFALL. WIDESPREAD RAINFALL AMOUNTS OF 1 TO 2
  INCHES WILL BE POSSIBLE. HOWEVER...IN AREAS THAT SEE REPEATED
  ROUNDS OF THUNDERSTORM ACTIVITY 3 TO 4 INCHES OF RAINFALL MAY
  OCCUR.

* CREEKS AND RIVERS MAY OVERCOME THEIR BANKS AND INTO ROADWAYS
  WITHIN THE FLASH FLOOD WATCH AREA. IN ADDITION...TYPICAL FLOOD
  PRONE AREAS AND OTHER LOW-LYING SPOTS MAY QUICKLY FLOOD AS HEAVY
  RAINFALL PASSES THROUGH THE REGION.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A FLASH FLOOD WATCH MEANS THAT CONDITIONS MAY DEVELOP THAT LEAD
TO FLASH FLOODING. FLASH FLOODING IS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION.

YOU SHOULD MONITOR LATER FORECASTS AND BE PREPARED TO TAKE ACTION
SHOULD FLASH FLOOD WARNINGS BE ISSUED.
