...The flood warning continues for the following rivers in
Illinois...Kentucky...

  Ohio River at Mount Vernon...J.T. Myers Dam...Shawneetown...
  Golconda...Smithland Dam...Paducah...Brookport Dam...
  Grand Chain Dam and Cairo.

.Heavy rainfall the past couple weeks has led to prolonged flooding
along the Ohio River. Water levels are slowly receding now with
minor flooding coming to an end at some point this weekend for
most, if not all, locations.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

SAFETY MESSAGE...

Never drive cars...trucks or sport utility vehicles through flooded
areas. The water may be too deep to allow safe passage. Never allow
children to play in or near flood waters. Stay tuned to NOAA Weather
Radio or your local media for further statements and possible updated
forecasts.

* until Saturday morning.
* At  9:00 PM Thursday the stage was 44.7 feet.
* Flood Stage is 40.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river will continue to fall to below flood stage by
  Saturday morning.
* Impact...At 46.0 Feet...Flooding begins to affect Rosiclare
  Illinois.

* Impact...At 43.0 Feet...Moderate flooding occurs affecting several
  small unprotected towns.

* Flood Stage is 40.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river will continue to fall to below flood stage by
  tomorrow midday.
* Impact...At 40.0 Feet...Minor flooding occurs affecting mainly
  bottomland and surrounding and low lying areas.
