THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR NORTH CENTRAL ILLINOIS...
NORTHEAST ILLINOIS AND NORTHWEST INDIANA.

.DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT.

  WEATHER HAZARDS EXPECTED:

   THUNDERSTORMS...SOME OF WHICH MAY PRODUCE:
-ISOLATED WIND GUSTS TO 50 MPH.
    -TORRENTIAL DOWNPOURS.
    -CLOUD TO GROUND LIGHTNING.

  AREAS AFFECTED AND TIMING:

SOME WIDELY SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS ARE POSSIBLE THIS MORNING.
HOWEVER...MORE SUBSTANTIAL SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS ARE EXPECTED
ACROSS PORTIONS OF NORTHERN ILLINOIS AND NORTHWESTERN INDIANA
THIS AFTERNOON AND EVENING. THE BEST CHANCES FOR STORMS WILL BE
ALONG AND SOUTH OF A CHICAGO TO OTTAWA LINE.

  DISCUSSION:

A SERIES OF UPPER LEVEL DISTURBANCES WILL INTERACT WITH A WARM
AND VERY MOIST ATMOSPHERE ACROSS THE AREA THIS
AFTERNOON...LEADING TO THE DEVELOPMENT OF SCATTERED SHOWERS AND
THUNDERSTORMS. IT APPEARS THE BEST CHANCES FOR THUNDERSTORM
DEVELOPMENT THIS AFTERNOON WILL BE ROUGHLY ALONG AND SOUTH OF A
LINE FROM CHICAGO TO OTTAWA. ALTHOUGH THE THREAT OF WIDESPREAD
SEVERE STORMS IS LOW...SOME OF THE STRONGEST STORMS COULD
PRODUCE ISOLATED WIND GUSTS IN EXCESS OF 50 MPH AND TORRENTIAL
   DOWNPOURS.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...SUNDAY THROUGH FRIDAY.

THERE IS A GOOD CHANCE FOR THUNDERSTORMS MONDAY INTO EARLY
TUESDAY. SOME OF THESE STORMS COULD BE SEVERE...ESPECIALLY ON
MONDAY. THESE STORMS WILL ALSO BE CAPABLE OF PRODUCING VERY HEAVY
RAINFALL...WHICH COULD LEAD TO LOCALIZED FLASH FLOODING.

THERE WILL BE ADDITIONAL SLIGHT CHANCES FOR THUNDERSTORMS WEDNESDAY
NIGHT AND THURSDAY...WITH A BETTER CHANCE OF THUNDERSTORMS ON
FRIDAY.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

SPOTTER ACTIVATION WILL NOT BE NECESSARY THROUGH TONIGHT.
