RIP CURRENT RISK...WHICH IS IN EFFECT THROUGH FRIDAY EVENING.

* TIMING...STRONG ONSHORE WINDS WILL CREATE A HIGH RISK OF RIP
  CURRENTS THROUGH FRIDAY EVENING.

* IMPACTS...RIP CURRENTS WILL BE COMMON AT AREA BEACHES THROUGH AT
  LEAST FRIDAY EVENING. BEACH GOERS SHOULD EXERCISE CAUTION IF
  ENTERING THE SURF.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

THERE IS A HIGH RISK OF RIP CURRENTS.

RIP CURRENTS ARE POWERFUL CHANNELS OF WATER FLOWING QUICKLY AWAY
FROM SHORE...WHICH OCCUR MOST OFTEN AT LOW SPOTS OR BREAKS IN THE
SANDBAR AND IN THE VICINITY OF STRUCTURES SUCH AS GROINS...
JETTIES AND PIERS. HEED THE ADVICE OF LIFEGUARDS AND THE BEACH
PATROL. PAY ATTENTION TO FLAGS AND POSTED SIGNS.

IF YOU BECOME CAUGHT IN A RIP CURRENT...DO NOT PANIC. REMAIN CALM
AND BEGIN TO SWIM PARALLEL TO SHORE. ONCE YOU ARE AWAY FROM THE
FORCE OF THE RIP CURRENT...BEGIN TO SWIM BACK TO THE BEACH. DO
NOT ATTEMPT TO SWIM DIRECTLY AGAINST A RIP CURRENT. EVEN A STRONG
SWIMMER CAN BECOME EXHAUSTED QUICKLY.

THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR NORTHEAST FLORIDA...SOUTHEAST
GEORGIA AND THE ADJACENT COASTAL WATERS.

.DAY ONE...TONIGHT...

STRONG AND GUSTY NORTHEAST WINDS WILL RESULT IN SMALL CRAFT
ADVISORY CONDITIONS OVER THE COASTAL WATERS...AND A HIGH RISK OF
RIP CURRENTS AT AREA BEACHES.

MINOR TO MODERATE FLOODING IS OCCURRING OR FORECAST TO OCCUR WITHIN
SEVERAL LOCAL RIVER BASINS. PLEASE REFER TO THE RIVER FLOOD WARNINGS
AND STATEMENTS FOR MORE INFORMATION.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...FRIDAY THROUGH WEDNESDAY...

LOW PRESSURE WILL DEVELOP OVER THE GULF OF MEXICO ON FRIDAY...AND
WILL MOVE SLOWLY THROUGH OUR REGION FRIDAY NIGHT AND SATURDAY.
HEAVY RAINFALL IS EXPECTED TO OVERSPREAD THE AREA BY FRIDAY
MORNING. THUNDERSTORMS WILL BE POSSIBLE BY FRIDAY AFTERNOON AND
EVENING OVER PORTIONS OF NORTHEAST FLORIDA. SOME THUNDERSTORMS
MAY BE STRONG WITH THE POTENTIAL TO PRODUCE DAMAGING WIND GUSTS.

RAINFALL WILL SLOWLY DECREASE ON SATURDAY. RAINFALL TOTALS OF 2
TO 4 INCHES...AND LOCALLY HIGHER TOTALS POSSIBLE AND A FLOOD WATCH
HAS BEEN ISSUED FOR SOUTHEAST GEORGIA AND NORTHEAST FLORIDA.
GIVEN SATURATED GROUND CONDITIONS...THE THREAT FOR FLOODING WILL
INCREASE...WITH SUBSTANTIAL RIVER FLOODING POSSIBLE THIS WEEKEND
AND NEXT WEEK.

ONSHORE WINDS WILL STRENGTHEN AS LOW PRESSURE MOVES TOWARDS THE
COASTAL WATERS ON FRIDAY NIGHT. STRONG NORTHERLY WINDS WILL
CONTINUE OVER THE COASTAL WATERS THROUGHOUT THE WEEKEND...WITH
BUILDING SEAS EXPECTED OFFSHORE. DANGEROUS SURF AND AN ELEVATED
RISK OF RIP CURRENTS ARE EXPECTED AT AREA BEACHES INTO EARLY NEXT
WEEK...AND HIGH SURF MAY CAUSE BEACH EROSION DURING TIMES OF HIGH
TIDE. SMALL CRAFT ADVISORIES ARE IN EFFECT THROUGH MONDAY MORNING.
